Too BIG to be good for anyone!

About Me

500% more man. A livin' dream.

My Interests

Punk rock, guitar, Les Pauls, SG's with broken necks, Telecasters, Marshalls, bass, Dodge and Plymouth automobiles (1964-71 or so), scotch, bourbon, wine, beer, food and drink in general. trying to figure out how things work by breaking them and fixing them.

I'd like to meet:

..

Music:

Um, how about a Top 50 in no particular order... Nine Pound Hammer, Mountain, Teenage Head, AC/DC, Lazy Cowgirls, Mummies, Rip Offs, Supercharger, Supersuckers, Ramones, NY Dolls, Gore Gore Girls, Otis Redding, Zero Boys, Sam Cooke, Johnny Cash, Hank Sr, Biz Markie, Descendents, ALL, Gary US Bonds, T Model Ford, Billy Bragg, Freddie King, Groovie Ghoulies, NWA, Zeke, Nomads, The Sonics, Teenage Head, Deadbolt, Link Wray, Devil Dogs, Zodiac Killers, Hudson Falcons, Dictators, Thin Lizzy, Screeching Weasel, John Prine, Flamin' Groovies, Real Kids, Roy Clark, Booker T & The MG's, early Ice Cube, Gizmos, Robert Johnson, The Saints, Undertones, Bruce Springsteen, The Boys, Hound Dog Taylor, The Hookers, Fu Manchu, Cactus, The Dirtbombs, The Vindictives, Wilson Pickett, etc... I don't know... is that 50? You get the idea.

Movies:

Blues Brothers, Cabin Boy, 2000 Maniacs, other Herschell Gordon Lewis, Slingblade, Two Lane Blacktop, Vanishing Point, Goonies, Rock n' Roll Highschool, Vacation, Christmas Vacation, Bottle Rocket, Spinal Tap, Best In Show, Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind, Citizen Cain, Caress of the Vampire 2: Teenage Ghoul Girl a Go Go, Apocalypse Now, various zombie movies, low budget sci fi and horror, 70's disaster movies, and more.

Television:

I don't really watch much TV. Mythbusters is really the only show I "make plans" to watch. I have an odd fascination with that NCIS show because it's really not very good... which might be why I like it, but I always forget to watch it.

Books:

At the risk of seeming like a slack jawed yokel, I just don't read much. Short attention span, I guess. I tend to stick to guitar tech books and stuff like that.

Heroes:

Tom Donahue, Bill Hicks, Leo Fender, Jim Marshall, Angus and Malcolm, Leslie West, Link Wray, Steve Cropper, Donald "Duck" Dunn, James Jamerson, Mike Watt, Joe Don Baker.

Project complete?

The amp is done.  Finally.  After delaying myself by forgetting to order stuff, it's finally done and ready for action.  The Amp had been acting up lately.  Lots of hiss, a short o...

Current Project (what did I get myself into?)

The trusty old Marshall has been sounding a little bit tired lately.  I figured the original 28 year old filter caps were probably on their way out, so I decided to replace them.  I've also ...

Todays Epic Struggle/Epic Victory.

The bathroom sink. It has always been a problem. Clog. I'm not sure what the problem is, but this thing gets clogged like no other sink I've ever encountered. I usually just dump some sort of drain...

Hey, I made something again.

I could go into detail about what this is, but it would bore most everyone to death.  Suffice to say, it's a clone of a benchmark boutique boost/overdrive pedal that I've wanted since Lumpy let m...

Current project (F-Bomb).

Finally getting around to this one.  Bought it in like, 2003 or something.  I was going to sell it, but realized I'd probably never find another one that I can afford.  Here it is when ...

Total Sonic Annihilation In A Pretty Box.

The Foxx Tone Machine is not pleasant.  As a straight fuzzbox, it sounds like sweet, thick, unholy doom. With the octave engaged, it sounds like a cat giving a very painful birth, then dying at t...
