About Me

New Trailer

Add to My Profile | More Videos
If you were to ask, "About Me," what this trailer is "About" would occupy a precariously large percentage of "Me". Really, it is what I am about these days, making a great narrative-documentary movie about Volkswagens. To find out more about the movie, the idea, the direction and why I've been incognito this year and will be for some time to come, check out the MySpace for the Croc , the 1972 Transporter Deluxe Volkswagen bus. We love him. Most the time.
Besides plugging my movie, I enjoy collecting wonderful experiences, memories and cultural opportunities in Los Angeles. I do this monthly with my M.oM. Day club(museum of the month) When I moved back to LA after college I felt that I would never take advantage of all that LA had to offer unless I was purposeful about it. And because I was starting my entertainment career I had the time to fill. Thus I gave birth to my M.oM. And we have seen and eaten so many wonderful things. I'm proud of M.oM. Day for reasons like Mary Haynes moving to Washington D.C. and bringing M.oM. DAY(D.C.) with her and that sommelier Bob Clark took my M.oM. with him to Northern California . I'm very grateful for the experiences and more so for the friends who've joined me. Which all ties into the fact that I felt a need to create community in Los Angeles.
Folks often say that LA is full of con-artists, bullshitters, fakers, phonies and motherfuckers; and it is. BUT, I purport that your experience is what you make it. Be the change you want to see in the world(Gandhi). Create the community you want to be a part of. I believe strongly in collecting wonderful people in my life. From my dearest Katherine to regular customers at work who've become friends, I aim to fill my life with people I love, admire, enjoy and from whom I can learn. People smarter than me, more talented than me, kinder, more loving and more dynamic than me. But never better looking. Better looking people can find there damn community elsewhere.
This is why I also started Iron Thought , an interdisciplinary, cross-pollinating, artist's, thinking men's group for the curious minded. In this group we have writers, painters, musicians, actors, photographers, sculptors and filmmakers. we have men pursuing medicine, higher mathematics, anatomy, animation, cinematography and we discuss everything from logic, the culinary arts, political policy, composition, aesthetics, faith, vulgarity, new thought, the future, sets and subsets, history, giants, women and BEYOND!

My Interests

Fragrance: Terre D'Hermes, John Varvatos, Costume National, Antidote, Bijan with a Twist, Egoiste Platinum, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs. I'd like to have my own fragrance one day.

I'd like to meet:

I like interesting people. And interesting people are people who are authentically interested in life not who live an affected life.
Authenticity is truth and truth is powerful. So I'm drawn to people who try and be as true a self as they can. Those are the types of people you want to talk with, open up to and share life with. They're humble enough to have a dialog with God at least acknowledging; his existence and they're non-divinity allowing you the grace to be imperfect too.
Those are good people. Those are the people who have a great effect. That realness, that authentic living and honesty; how can you ever have enough of those people in your life. It's dynamic dammit!

Man, I'd like to meet ME living like THAT!

Music:

Movies:

Kraftwerk

Television:

I Love Lucy, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, season two of the state-side The Office, DEADWOOD! I don't get to watch nearly as much television as I'd like to. I hear it's really good these days.

Books:

21 Balloons, Blue Like Jazz, Babbit, Biographies, Autobiographies... I read a lot online, A LOT. All sorts of stuff from science to history, technology, of course much more than my share of Volkswagen trivia. I really have read more on Volkswagen than probably anything else other than my my major in college. I'm sure I could have a minor in Volkswagen at this point. Other than those things I like to try and read the Bible in as fresh a way I can so I can find new application to my life.

Heroes:
