I am the leader/fiddle player/lead singer for my band, "The Kati Penn Band". The band members are: Me: Lead Vocals,harmony vocals, fiddle; CJ Cain: guitar; James Kee: mandolin, vocals; Jimmy Redden: Banjo, Vocals; Nick Powell: Bass, vocals.I own and operate Penn's Music Instruction in which I teach private fiddle and voice lessons, and my husband teaches guitar, banjo, and bass. I love playing and listening to music of all kinds although my band is primarily a bluegrass band. I really enjoy going to bluegrass festivals, hanging out with other musicians, and jamming.I also do quite a bit of studio session work and I really enjoy it!! It is my opportunity to be completely creative.
I love spending time with my NEW HUSBAND!!! Jr Williams, who is the sweetest, kindest man on the earth!! Every single day he amazes me all over again with how kind and selfless he is. He truly brings out the best in me. We got married on June.30 2007, It was a surprise wedding with just family and our closest friends. It was very simple and INCREDIBLE!! I Love you Dearest Love!!!It is amazing to me how God knew all along exactly who I needed, and he made a way for it to happen!!! I love life, and love doing the things that everyone loves to do like watch movies, go out to eat, hang out with my friends and family,play tennis, sleep very late, and shop for things I don't need, of course!! I really love it when I am on the road, doing what I do, which is playing music. I also really enjoy making lists and planning things ,this includes writing in my planner, then erasing what I wrote, and replanning again. Most people think that I need a planner to keep up with all of my planners!!!I do worry alot, but that is my only flaw! haha, I am a happy person with just a few minor quirks, but then again, who doesn't have quirks?
Most importantly, I am a Bible believing christian and I love going to church (although I don't make it there as often as I should) and reading and studying the bible(although I don't do this as often as I should either!!). I try to live my life in a way that will be pleasing to God although I do realize that I am not perfect. But that's o.k. because noone is!!(It really aggravates me when christians think that they are better than non-christians) I have found that having faith in Jesus and Loving other people ,truly loving them without judging them ,like Jesus loves us, is what we are here for. I only long to be more like him. I don't claim to know everything but I believe that even when i don't have all the answers, God knows what is best!!And he will make things right in HIS TIME, not ours! Do I mess up sometimes ? Of course!(alot actually) We all do, but I believe that If I ask God to forgive me, he will, because Jesus already paid my debts. And that, my friends, is very comforting!!!
I love my dogs, they are like my children, since I do not have any children of my own yet. I love animals of all kinds and I HATE it when people are mean to sweet innocent animals!!!!Why would anyone hurt an innocent creature???? I just recently started grooming dogs one day a week. It is really hard but I love it. I am looking into opening animal rescue one day, so if you have any info or experience with animal rescues, I would appreciate your insights!!
I think I have a good sense of humor, and I love to laugh and make others laugh. I think this pretty much wraps me up.
