This is the official site for MattyMat Productions. MattyMat is the brainchild of Joel Burkholder a.k.a. “Burk†and Robert Anthony a.k.a. “Rodâ€. We are still in the opening phases right now and we’re trying to gain some publicity. We support all artists, signed and unsigned, and we believe in artists who stay true to their music instead of jumping on the band wagon and following trends. We plan on working in the central Texas area for the time being, but eventually we hope to take on bands and venues from around the US. Robert and I started MattyMat after we met in Korea while serving in the U.S. Army. We discovered that we both had a deep love and appreciation for music. Both of us have been around the music scene for just about our whole lives. Robert used to do booking and promoting for bands around the San Antonio area before he joined the Army. And I have been playing the guitar since I was seven. I’ve been in bands forever and I’ve been writing, recording and playing shows since I was about fourteen. Now, Rod handles the booking and promoting, and I do music production and look for talent. Our goal is to help bands and/or artists who want to get a start in the music business. Right now Rod and I are both still in the U.S. Army, but we plan on opening 100% in the Central Texas area once we are both done with our enlistment. Some of our future plans include opening our own recording studio and offering fully stage production. We also plan on employing a full staff of professionals to help our artists, including; a full stage production and road crew, a public relations department, marketing professionals, and booking and promotions personnel from around the Texas area, just to name a few. We plan to start scouting for bands in the Central Texas area startin in late 2008, early 2009.
