About Me

Welcome to the world of WIRED! ...a high-energy dance band that loves to play classic fifties style rock 'n' roll and the blues songs that inspired it. The band consists of three seasoned rock 'n' roll lifers who have joined forces to play music where people want to have fun. Guitarist/Vocalist Kevin Sutton from St. Louis, Missouri, drummer Rick Jacobson, and bassist Keith Bakke, both from the Seattle Area, have a combined 75 years of professional experience. They really love what they do, and it shows on their faces. Expect the unexpected! This band goes from a comfortable quiet whisper to in your face and loud and proud!
When I say high-energy I mean HIGH-ENERGY. The band isn’t just a band, they put on a tireless show. WIRED! is there to provide entertainment and they take their job seriously. Careful or the guitar player may just end up on your table. Watch out or the drummer may be taking a solo, not just any drum solo, but up on the bar drum solos on your glass of beer.

And what better dance music than rockabilly, vintage rock 'n' roll, and classic rhythm & blues. The music swings like crazy and if you like to dance there is nothing better. But blues, rockabilly, and the rock 'n' roll music it helped create, are really about partying your blues away. WIRED! plays a wide variety of crazy beats from the very beginnings of rock 'n' roll that are guaranteed to get you up off of your seat and dancing. Like early Elvis, Johnny Cash, Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Gene Vincent, the beat keeps pumping and the energy never quits. Include in the mix a good dose of songs penned by the band and you’ve got a sure recipe for fun!

Kevin Sutton, guitar and lead vocals - Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, he left to study classical music at the University of Hawaii. He ended up in St. Louis, Missouri where he became a regular in the local blues scene. By day he helped operate West End Music and taught music. At night he played with such notable St. Louis artists as Johnny Johnson, Tommy Bankhead, Steve Pecaro, David Surkamp, and Jimmy Lee Kennet. Performances ranged from appearances at the Heritage Blues Festival, to regular gigs at Soulard blues bars The 1860's and Mike and Min's, as well as opening up at the Westport Playhouse for such acts as Robin Trower and Emmylou Harris. He credits his big brother Casey for making it possible to pursue his love of music over the years, "without his support I would not be playing today; he believed in me."

Rick (The Stick) Jacobson, drums and vocals - Born and raised in the Seattle area Rick has been a drummer/percussionist for nearly 30 years. Most recently he has performed with the Seattle area group Miles From Chicago. Rick's favorite drummers include David Garibaldi, Ringo Starr, Phil Collins, Stewart Copeland, and all of the James Brown drummers.

Keith Bakke, bass and vocals - Kieth Bakke is the anchor of the Wired Rockabilly Blues Band. Bakke has been performing up and down the West coast from California to Alaska for the past four decades. While he is best known for a 23 year stint with Seattle-based Lost Vaurnets, he has played with many other local and regional bands including: the Premiers, Lucky Jones, Family, and Early Flight. Keith’s solid old-school bass lines fit well with Rick’s drums to create a groove that is impossible not to dance to. If you like to dance, you know that the groove is the thing and Keith is the master of grooves.
