From the beginning of his career, Chris "The Greek" Panaghi, has been dedicated to the Dance music community. Chris' early love of DJ'ing led to his start as a local New York area DJ, working various nightclubs and social events. He soon found himself spinning to packed houses at some of the hottest nightclubs in New York City and fielding requests to perform guest DJ spots internationally. Over the years he received the nickname "The Greek", which stuck, and he became known in the industry simply as Chris "The Greek". Chris is known for his trademark Peak Hour style, which incorporates such elements as Disco, House, Filtered, Progressive, and Trance.
In spite of a hectic DJ schedule, "The Greek" still manages to find the time to write original songs, produce new artists and remix high profile projects. He first emerged on the recording scene with a sizzling record entitled "Boriqua" that created a tremendous buzz and led to his being in demand to produce remixes for major artists including MICHAEL JACKSON, GLORIA ESTEFAN, CELINE DION, JESSICA SIMPSON, AQUA, JON SECADA, and MARC ANTHONY.
"I'll never forget the first time I heard my mix on the radio," says Chris. "It was the greatest feeling of my life, and that's what drives me to create more."
DMA Magazine (Dance Music Authority) rated Chris "The Greek" as one of the top 100 Hi-NRG DJ's in the USA. He is currently a Billboard Reporter for the Dance Music Club Play Chart and a regular in submitting his playlist to many industry trade publications due to his expertise in the dance music field. Chris also served as the assistant director of one of the most cutting edge record pools in the New York Tri-State area, Direct Hit Record Pool.
In addition to his achievements in the recording world, "The Greek" has also found success on some of the most popular radio shows and radio stations across the US: WXXP-LI, WKTU-NYC, WNEW-NYC, KYLD-CA, WPYO-Orlando and POWER-96 in Miami Florida. Chris "The Greek" Panaghi is a mixshow DJ for various radio shows and mixshows all over the world. He has developed and has been a Mixshow DJ & Air Personality for the highly rated "The Island Underground" (Syndicated on 105.3 WXXP, 92.7 WLIR, & 98.5 WDRE). Chris has helped to break many records with his keen ears on the radio level and has established himself as an influential Mixshow DJ Nationally.
Chris "The Greek†is currently head of A&R for Amathus Music, a successful international record label. In 2005, he scored a Top 5 Billboard Dance Hit with "The Feeling" and a Top 10 Billboard Dance Hit with "Movin’ On" (both by Chris “The Greek†Panaghi). Chris recently signed on with XM Radio Ch. 81 (BPM) for a regular Saturday Night radio mixshow called United Nation, which broadcasts to a worldwide audience.
