Official SitePercussionist José Vázquez-Cofresi & Julián Silva organized "La Excelencia, a young orchestra with the "Salsa Dura (Hardcore Salsa)" sound. In 2006 "La Excelencia" began to record "Salsa con Conciencia", a 10 track "original" cd showcasing vast styles of Salsa Dura (Hardcore Salsa), Descarga, and "Guaguanco". This is not only a cd for dancing but the lyrics contain a positive social message.
Edwin Perez & Gilberto Velazquez are the two vocalist of La Excelencia. Edwin sings the two hit singles "La Lucha" and "La Salsa y el Guaguanco". The songs can be heard internationally on radio or/and at your local club (discotheque). The cd also features a remix of "La Lucha" with guest rapper "Shanny" as a bonus track. The vocalist show a mass range of styles and abilities as do the musicians. From beginning to end "La Excelencia" will have you dancing and singing along to this hit compilation.
