My name is Kehinde Simon Adetoye. I play keyboard(piano)and guitar.Having been exposed to music early enough I later studied music at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State in Nigeria graduating with B.A. Edu.(Music) in (1997). Consequent upon God's call into ministry I enrolled at the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary in Ogbomoso to study Church music at postgraduate diploma level, a programme I completed in June, 2003. I currently serve as Minister of music at the Good News Baptist Church, Surulere, Lagos. I serve along with our Senior pastor, Rev. Kayode Ilupeju- a man of God with passion for missions and true christian worship. The church has five other pastors serving in other specialised ministries.
As the minister of music, I coordinate the weekly rehearsals of about sixty member choir named GNBC Sanctuary Choir. We also have a band of talented men consisting of the Keyboardist (Funso Bankole), Guitarist(Gbenga Ojo), Drummer(Ayo Munis), Percussionist(Franklin Una) and Trumpeter(Bola Ladehinde). Each time we have a major performance like Christmas and Easter Cantata, we always have a visiting orchestra that accompanies the choir. I write the choral and ochestral parts with Tope Phillips(Guest Orchestra instructor & Coordinator) and Funso Bankole(Church Organist) giving special assistance.
The summary of my ministry is that of God's love and grace shown to me and the entire team I'm working with. To God be all glory. SOLI DEO GLORIA. My desire in life is to see the whole of creation lift their songs of praise to JESUS the Author and the Finisher of our faith. Amen
