He started by playing local percussion in his local church before moving on to drums at age 13, Leye grew up listening to Drummers like Dave Weckl,Steve Gadd James Bradley Jr.Because of his passion for Jazz, he was deployed to a jazz band called D’Rovans jazz band when he was 18.
He was one of the pioneer member of this band till the time he left to join praise and worship team of Agbala Itura, where he did his first live recording. He played with Shekinah glory led by Bro. Banji Fadehan,.In 1998 Leye moved to the Gambia to explore the music world and get more definitions to his career and music.
He co formed blue velvet band in the Gambia, the band where he is a drummer and the lead singer,he discovered his God given singing ability in the Gambia.He joined Abiding word ministries where is he currently the house drummer and praise and worship leader of this growing church. Leye travels extensively around the world ministering on drums and in songs, Leye has one album to his credit titled Number One,The nine tracks album covered songs of all gender.
