Beholding His Grace...Becoming His Masterpiece

About Me

I'm a wife and mother and daughter and friend. I'm a "Christian", though I believe "follower of Christ" fits better because in this day and age "Christian" carries such negative connotations. I am proud of my husband, my girls, and of my stay-at-home-mom status.

Words of Affirmation

Information

Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.

My Interests

I LOVE horseback riding but I don't own a horse so I don't get to ride very often. I like to sing, though I've never had lessons and am therefore mediocre at best. I like to read when I can muster up the time and interest in a book.

Television:

I'm really into America's Funniest Videos. Have been since I was a little girl. I cannot miss an episode. Then you watch right through Home Makeover (not its real name I know). And I absolutely have to watch Headlines on The Tonight Show every Monday night. Those are pretty much the only must-see things I have, I've been spending my leisure time on the computer lately so I haven't seen much TV in the past few months.

Books:

I like anything by Ted Dekker, he's consistently good. There's also a series by Liz Curtis Higgs based on the story of Jacob and Esau from the bible, set in 18th century Scotland, told mostly from the point of view of the Leah character. That series made me cry, and it made me want to be a better mom. It really inspired me.The two best books ever for holding my attention and jerking out a few tears would be "Redeeming Love" and "The Atonement Child" by Francine Rivers. Still my all-time favorite books, hands-down.

Run #1

So I went for my first "run" yesterday, which, under this program, is actually more of a walk. You start out with a warm-up, then a stretch, then you run for 60 seconds and then walk for 90 seconds. Y...
