RLF - American Abstract Painter & Digital Artist

About Me

Hello and welcome to the art of RLF. I would describe myself as an Abstract Painter/Artist who creates original modern art with a variety of mediums and techniques. My main medium is Oil on Canvas and the depiction of Abstract imagery through the use of color and movement. My influences are primarily from the Post-War era beginning in the 1940's to the death of Pollock in 1956. I believe abstract painting and abstract expressionism is the idea that painting comes from the inside the raw inner element that bounds us to emotion & feelings, then expressing those emotions on canvas without having an objective in mind. I find that my personal key to success as a painter is that I never start a painting with an idea or direction. I just start painting, the first couple brush stokes and line set the tone and foundation of the painting. By using this method my art is fresh and spontaneous.
As an artist there is still much to discover, I am a student but yet I am a teacher. The time left to discover is a process that is never ending and one of self discovery and self exploration. The mediums may be the same but the message is not.
I would love to go to New York someday and market my art. If you are interested in owning an original RLF I can be contacted directly through my personal website: www.richfrederick.com

Please come out on August 2nd for the FACES OF ATHENA ART SHOW at ROMEO's Art Gallery in YBOR
