Comedy, Modern Lit, Politics, Impro, History, Swimming, regularly poisoning my body with Liquor to balance out any exercise I do, tasty food, Truth, Love, Beauty, and all sorts of socially frowned-upon things which are best left undeclared. I also used to like playing my guitar but we don't see each other anymore.
People who love comedy, comedians, sundry comedy related folk, writers, good people, Jon Stewart, Bowie, Sir Edmund, and the guy who mugged me for 40c when I was 11 years old- I'm bigger and richer now so bring it on!
At the mo i'm wearing out Bit By Bats new album, but I also love Cut Copy, Iggy Pop, Grandmaster Flash, Interpol, The Smiths, New Order, Prince, David Bowie, The Organ, Shihad, Suede, Muse, and the baleful cries of my enemies. When I'm in a bad mood I put on some cheesy hair-rock for some serious air guitar action.
Man Bites Dog, Das experiment, Dr Strangelove, Akira, Scarface, The Deer Hunter, Raging Bull, the Shawshank Redemption, The Good The Bad and the Ugly, Lawrence of Arabia, Swingers, too many other favorites to list. Just watched 'Thankyou for Smoking'- very cool.
I'm far too pretentious to admit to liking T.V. But I'll turn it on for Family Guy, American Dad, Yes, Minister, And the works of Mr R.Gervais.
Michel Houellebecq rocks, Clive James is a one man Led Zep of writing, and their back up band includes the power-chord prose talents of Graham Green, Hemingway, Solzhenitsyn, Hunter S., John Birmingham, Sharon Beder, Bill Fitzhugh, Salman Rushdie, Greg Palast, Frank Herbert, Phillip K Dick, Alistair Reynolds, Steve Aylett, The Quarterly Essay, and Jerry Stahl. In my un-asked-for opinion Huckleberry Finn was seven kinds of awesome, and Don Watson's 'Death Sentence' should be issued to everyone at birth, along with Richard Dawkin's 'The God Delusion'.
Sir Edmund Hillary- A Humble, generous, public spirited living legend. Hugh Thompson Jnr- a real hero, who sadly died last year, and my Grandparents.
