Ben McKenzie is an actor, comedian, writer and fledgling science communicator. He is also the founder of small theatre company Shaolin Punk, and is producer and lead writer, as well as playing Graeme Garden, for his first play, A Record or an OBE. An actor, comedian and improviser, Ben has appeared in numerous theatrical productions including Arcadia (Eclipse Theatre), Turnstiler (La Mama), Twelfth Night (Blue Chair Theatreworks) and The Taking of Ramsey Street (Theatre in Decay).

Since 2004 he has written, performed and produced a series of comedy science lectures as “The Man in the Lab Coat” for the last three Melbourne Fringe Festivals. The most recent show, Science-ology, also ran in the 2007 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Ben became a member of impro comedy troupe The Crew in 2006. He also appeared as an improviser on the 2007 season of TheatreGames LIVE, and as one of the writers and presenters on variety show Planet Nerd, both for Channel 31.
