About Me

Created in San Diego, California in 1998 we are and have always been an alternative to the hollywood hip hop scene and other various incarnations of black(afam) muzic in san diego, cally, and the world. we started/came straight from the streets in the gaslamp quarter (hustling for quarters)...only to go straight into the studio(nico's) and the clubs in the same quarter of the city(specifically...the pentagon(1st club)...thanx nico and carlos and stickman3x(for the basslicks) from back then. (watch for future developments)...various personnel changes have taken place over the years for various reasons...not the least of which has been the fear of success( for...some people will always be ghetto...you know who you are). anybody that's ever had a band knows how that can get. anyway, we keep pressing on. we're still standing for what we stand for and making clear what we won't stand for. believe it. don't have to convert the believers...(fight your real enemies)... warriors with no war will be what they will be. there's power in numbers...this isn't a dress rehearsal.line up is as follows....storm cloud(manifest)-leader/founder/planetary diplomat plays djembe, keyboards (does what needs to be done to make this thing happen.) ..then it'sjelani matasekou(aka sekou solomon)-bass....now...the search for intelligent life on this planet is never ending...how are you doing? shipwrecked aliens making the best of the situation...another point of [email protected] in touch(stay tuned!!!)...until...

Influences: jimi, fela, sly and the family stone, fishbone, return to forever, stevie, miles, trane, monk, soundgarden, n.e.r.d., mint condition, osibisa, prince(not necessarily in that order)-you've just got to hear it......
Sounds Like: a collaboration with the last poets(circa gylan kain), sly and the family stone(with larry graham), fela(70-85), gil scott(before angel dust) and return to forever(75-77) with sprinklings of jimi(experience/band of gypsies) and n.e.r.d(now..).....yet somehow not a nostalgia trip(responding to real things in real time)......my daughter sajda says it's techno rap jazz(??!!??)....adventures in original street muzic(believe it)...just check it out...
