Believe it, Create it, Live it, Play it

About Me

Dry chicken is forbidden in my world. Salmonella or not, the thing needs moisture. I don't believe that certain words or phrases are "incorrect" on the basis that they've not yet appeared in a great literary publication. I love the fact that language is in a permanent state of bastardization & movement. Somehow I just can't bring myself to use the word "da" in place of the one that engages a more active role of the tongue. I live in Paris. I was born in Australia. Genetically, I'm Italian. I have difficulty referring to myself in the 3rd person..hence the lack of, "Rachel enjoys such activities as..." in this bio. My song arrangements tend to be longer than a funeral & my vocal arrangements thicker than gravy, but Im not excusing myself for it. I find it difficult to criticise people for not acting in the same manner that I would've chosen. I prefer to love people for who they are. I never speak in absolutes(!) Ive never taken myself seriously, and consequently, I laugh a lot. There are 2 handfuls of men & women in my life who I intend to hold onto with the obstinence of an industrial-strength hair laquer (See:"permanent"). I find that being true to who you are all of the time is a natural filter of who should and who should not be in your life, since only those who resonate with you will be left standing there. Previous to this "Band Bio" I would have told you that I find it difficult to talk about myself. I'm a sucker for sweetness. Insincerity & sycophancy, however, are about as welcome as a chopstick in the tearduct. Im no princess, but I have far too many pairs of stilettos. Damn, I love coffee. And my love affair with cherry tomatoes continues. I find it very difficult to be offended since I would never mistake the intention of the people who love me, and the intention of those who don't are not worth my offence. I'm a little confused by people who mistake aggression for strength. I would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance to the fellas in my band for all the times I will undoubtedly and unintentionally give them incorrect information, significant bruises or chicken laced with salmonella. I'm not in the habit of over-apology, nor am I in the habit of self-disempowerment by way of anticipating my own errors, but some things just are as they are. I freakin' love these guys.. (check out their profiles..) If you would like to discuss Nietzshe with a non-self-professed authority, talk to Tibo...he's humble, well-built & makes a cranking endive, apple, roquefort & walnut salad. And he could eat kilos & kilos of it. QUOTE: "I could eat kilos & kilos of it"; Gueguen has extensive experience in spontaneous purchases of giant buckets of chocolate mousse but finds that the sheer quantity interferes with the quality, and feels a little silly for having assumed otherwise; Stan doesn't know a thing about waxing so lucky for him, his timing is incredible. The three of them are exceptional people. When I grow up I want to host an annual festival for the prevention of cruelty to singers - To raise the awareness of jazz musicians who were deprived in nurturement offered by their mothers and compensated with long, wanky solos and the habit of staring at their crotches and nodding. After that, I should like to finally realise my dream of ping-pong masterdom using hardened lychees as pingpong balls wearing naught but Dutch clogs. Wooden ones. And then, perhaps in my twilight years, regular political demonstrations condemning the absence of UHT water in our supermarkets. I write, compose, produce, arrange & play keys. But with joy most evident, I sing.
Thanks for stopping by.
Below are some of the tracks (more remixes, really) from the other side of my ever-spinning coin, if you're into multi-dimensions.. Beatport doesn't host all of them.. For the more celebrated tunes, go to www.traxsource.com.
