My name is Buck Angel, and I am the world’s first female-to-male transsexual (FTM) Porn Star. In record time, I have single-handedly rocked the foundation of the porn world. I’ve been called an Adult Industry maverick and compared to Playboy’s legendary Hugh Hefner and Hustler’s controversial Larry Flynt. Like these gentlemen, I am an Adult-Industry pioneer.
I was born a biological female and conquered a lifetime of adversity to achieve my transformation as a man. From early childhood, there was no doubt I was born to the wrong body. As a kid, I roughhoused with the toughest bullies and was accepted as a boy by my friends and family. As a young adult, my lifestyle reflected that of an average American guy. I enjoyed sharing a cold one with the guys, working on cars and dating women, but never identified as a lesbian. I have never felt female, nor have I ever been perceived as such. Simply put, I am a man with a genetic female history.
In the 1980s, I got my first break in the Entertainment world as a high-fashion female model, under contract with two of world's most prestigious modeling agencies, Elite Model Management and Z in London. In typical form, I pushed the envelope in the high-fashion world, as well. My look as a professional female model was progressive and almost androgynous, which opened the doors for some of today’s most successful tomboy models. Many girls dream of becoming professional models, but modeling as a female was painfully difficult for me.
Life finally took a turn for the better when I came across a documentary about a female-to-male transsexual. The film changed the course of my life forever. Not long after, I began taking the necessary hormones and underwent breast-removal surgery. My transformation as a man has lead to a life of peace and self-acceptance. This was a dream come true and now I am the man I always wanted to be. For the first time in his life, I could live in my own skin.
Shortly after my gender reassignment, I began working in the Adult-Industry as a Fetish filmmaker and website creator for the male-to-female (MTF) on-line market. After a few years, I came to realize that there were no FTM Adult-Entertainment sites on-line. I decided to take matters into my own hands by creating the first FTM Adult website and became the first FTM Porn Star. I have successfully cornered the FTM Adult-Entertainment market.
In 2003, I made history as the Adult Industry’s first female-to-male Porn Star and Adult-film producer. In 2004, I signed an unprecedented 12-Picture deal with one of the Adult Industry's largest studios. Since then, my career has skyrocketed from it's humble beginnings to today’s mainstream media.
In another historical move I won the 2007 Transsexual Performer of the Year at the AVN Awards( porn oscars!). I am the first EVER transsexual man to win this award and feel very proud.
I am proud to be part of Entertainment history. Whether in the Adult Industry or commercial mediums, I hope my efforts open doors for those like me. Dialogue and education about the Transgender community is more prevalent then ever.
