About Me

Bienvenidos a Cyberllama!
Cyberllama is our baby, and the best online store for Peruvian stuff - if not in the world, then at least in Teesside.
Cyberllama is a brand new project, selling fair traded goods from Peru. All of our stock is handmade in Peru, most of it from the central Andes, although we hope to have some jungle produce in the store soon. Because everything is handmade, each piece is a unique 'one off' and you are unlikely to find an identical version anywhere else.
But why Peru? we hear you cry. Well, it may seem a little odd for a couple living in the North East England to set up shop selling Peruvian clothing, bit really, its is not that silly. I was simply trying to find a career combining my favourite hobbies - travelling, spending lots of money on things I never wear, and fiddling around on the internet. All Carl had to do was humour me and learn html and php code very quickly!
Inspiration came from our trips to Peru. In 2001, I worked in Huancayo in the central Andes for six months, while living with a local family. Eventually, Carl was also dispatched to Peru to drag me back kicking and screaming before my visa ran out. We have kept in touch with the family ever since, and this year, we finally went back to see them. Predictably, I spent the vast majority of my time wandering around markets and in and out of souvenir shops, and Cyberllama was born.
At long last, we no longer have to field endless questions from bemused friends such as "where on earth did you get that from?" All the Peruvian oddities we found and treasured will soon be available online. If you like what you see, let us know! Write reviews, comment me on here or tell your friends. We appreciate any feedback received.
