About Me

White Birds and Lemons are a four piece outfit from Auckland, New Zealand. We play an eclectic mix of songs and styles. Our inspiration comes from the roots (blues, soul, folk and the popular music explosion of the 1960s) and contemporary bands including Kings of Leon, Bright Eyes, Radiohead and MGMT.
About the demos on this page

"Rooms of Dust" and "The New Frontier" were recorded last year at BJB Studios in Sydney. "Blakemore and Campbell" and "Easy" were recorded in an entirely live session at Roundhead Studios in Auckland a few months later. The audience sounds you hear are from a group of about 20 of our close friends who sat in on the session with headphones and a few quiet brews. These demos are by no means the finished songs but they'll probably make an appearance on our first full lenth album in some form or other.

'Starry Eyes' video from our first EP
This video was shot at our mini-album release show at Rising Sun by our good friends, Trophy Wife productions. The song is from "Who Says You're Free?", our first EP recorded late 2006/early 2007 in a Mt Eden garage by Kody Nielson.
