now, where do i begin, i origionally got into my brit pop as a small child/teenager (who can tell the diffrence) and since then have been expanding my music appreciation and knowledge. i went onto enjoying all our past pre disessors, for example the doors, jimi hendrix, bowie, the stones, the beatles, the kinks, the small faces, led zeppelin, bob dylan, and many many more, i then became incapsulated with the whole new breed, for example the libertines, the strokes, white stripes, the hives, and many many more that just wont and will nver make this list. After discovering them i sort of went onto my singer/ songwrighters, ie elliott smith, neil young, again bob dylan, as well as re visiting some bands that had passed me, like the clash, the ramones, the buzzcocks, and nick cave and the bad seeds, and to cut a long story short, im now onto my obscure, ie sufjan stevens, the brian johnstone massacre, joanne newsom, arcitecture in helsinki, the arcadefire, broken social scene, neautral milk hotel ect....However throught this i have had 1 friend that has pushed hip hop to the max, now this isnt your regular eminem, or 50 cent, this is real hip hop, ie blackaliciouse, diplo, dangermouse, cut chemist and jurassic 5, dj shadow, as well as introducing me 2 clouded, and boards of canada, what an ace friend.Ive got sooooooooooo much 2 talk about with music, i mean i left out talking heads and they r 1 of my all time favourite bands, its such a vast subject that threres no way im gonna get through it all in 1 box, but if u have the same intrest then let me know,take it easy dudes!!!!!!*Update*Sems like everyone else just lists the bands and artisits that they like, so heres mine, in no paticular order: Pete Doherty, Babyshambles, The Libertines, Jimi Hendrix (both with the band of gypses and the experience), Radiohead, Elliott Smith, Neil Young, Nick Drake, Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, The Clash, Buzzcocks, Heatmiser, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Wilco, The Strokes, The White Stripes, Bob Dylan, Ian Brown, The Stone Roses, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, George Harrison, John Lennon, The Ramones, Arcitecture in Helsinki, The Doors, The Pixies, The Cure, The Go! Dont waste my time with it, chewing gum for the brain thats what i say!!!! I do occasionally catch the odd simpsons episode n south park when there on, oh and any music program i hear about, plus im loving green wing, best british comedy at the mo!!!!
