About Me

Well, my name is April Lynn Brown. I'm a theatre graduate from Cal State Northridge, my favorite color is green, I'm naturally blonde, but not any more. I'm a christian, but not a crazy, biting the heads off chickens, dancing in the isles, homophobic nut case like some (my friends can attest to that). I'm an actor/comdian/singer who's always working on a new show of some sort. I love to sing all the time (I sing back-up for the lovely CANDACE DEVINE - please check out her music and be dazzled). I love to harmonize whenever possible, I love to dance (and when I say dance, I mean DANCE. I wear appropirate attire that allows me to sweat, grind, and shake my ass the way God intended). I love freshly shaven legs between clean sheets, I love dogs, chocolate, mexican food, sushi, make-up (it's an obsession I was born with), SHOES, fashion, Jesus, movies, my family which consists of my parents who have been married for 33 years, my brother Andy and his wife Sherie, and my lil' sister Kelsey. I adore all of them (my friends have described my family as sickeningly functional. There's a lot of love at Browntown). We also just got a new addition to Browntown - my perfect nephew, AUSTIN RYAN was born on June 11. my heart is so full that i can hardly stand it* I love my friends (who are like family) and laughing so hard you think your head might explode. My friends say I will laugh at anything. I'm very good for the ego in that respect. At some point in the future, when I'm not as selfish, I want to be married, with children and dogs, in the nice house, living the dream...

My Interests

I love dancing, singing, acting, basically anything I can do with other people. I do enjoy solitude, but I'm definitely a people person. I love deep tissue massages, going to the movies and I LOVE playing games: CRANIUM, CELEBRITY, HEARTS, SPADES, MAFIA and I have never been on a losing team when playing SCENE IT (except when it was just me by myself against a whole other team of like 5 people and even then I only lost by 1). I'm from Oregon, so I love the outdoors too. My dad would laugh at that because I have been know to overdress for stacking wood, but other than that, if I know I have to rough it, I come prepared. In contrast, I love make-up, hair, fashion and all things girly, but I'm not high maintenance and I love sports too. My dad is a basketball and football coach, so I can't escape it (believe me I've tried). I love going to the theatre: plays, musicals, comedy/improv shows (I'm taking classes at The Groundlings in LA so I love to watch and learn from really good performers). I love, love, love the beach, but I don't "lay out". I actually swim in the ocean when I go and put on 50 SPF because I am fair and don't want a huge melanoma growing on my back.
MyGen Profile Generator

I'd like to meet:

Marilyn Monroe, Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly, Fred Astaire, Jimmy Stewart, Celeste Holm, Gregory Peck, Sarah Jessica Parker, John Cameron Mitchell, Idina Menzel, Parker Posey, Roger Moore, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, G.W., Vivien Leigh, Gary Beach, my Grandpa Brown & the cast of Queer as Folk & The L Word

Music:

I love just about everything, or at least a little bit of everything. Rufus Wainwright, U2, Saint Etienne, Belle & Sebastian, Black Eyed Peas, Mariah Carey, Beck, Elton John, James Taylor, Cranberries (ahhhh high school), Jill Scott, Carol King, Beach Boys, Gatlin Brothers, Linda Ronstadt, The Eagles, India Arie, Stevie Wonder, Kenny Loggins (don't judge me), Travis, Keane, Coldplay, George Michael, Loretta Lynn & Jack White's album kicks ass, Radiohead, PJ Harvey, Three Dog Night, Blondie, Fleetwood Mac, Kula Shaker, Faith Hill, Seal, Trisha Yearwood, Dixie Chicks, Michael McDonald, Xanadu soundtrack (don't judge me because you know you listen to this too), The Carpenters, Pink Martini, Lords of Acid, Bjork, Portishead, Otis Redding, The Corrs, AIR, Wilco, Snow Patrol. I love soul/gospel/funk/rock/pop/ country/oldies, everything. It's good to listen to a little bit of everything. It keeps you open to what touches other people.

Movies:

I am the same with movies as I am with music. I like everything from romantic comedies to suspense to avant garde to action to indie to classic, but here are some of my favs: Rear Window, White Christmas, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, High Society, The Indiana Jones Trilogy, Star Wars Trilogy, LOTR Trilogy, Goonies (no brainer), Sound of Music, Singin' In The Rain, To Kill A Mockingbird, Amelie, Gentleman's Agreement, JAWS, Gone With The Wind, SAW (I was completely disturbed), Breakfast Club, Sleeping Beauty, Splash, The Lover, 9 1/2 Weeks, Secretary, James Bond Movies, Two Girls & A Guy, Waiting for Guffman (anything Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy touch), A Cool Dry Place, The Abyss, Swingers, Office Space, The Girl Next Door (the soundtrack made that movie), Lolita, Monsoon Wedding, Ocean's 11 & 12, Party Girl (anything with Parker Posey), Defending Your Life, Dumb & Dumber, Tommy Boy, Old School, I Heart Huckabees, White, Batman & Batman Forever (I didn't like the last 2. Michael Keaton is where it's at), speaking of Michael Keaton, Mr. Mom is hysterical, What's Up Doc, Young Frankenstein, History of the World (Madeleine Kahn and Mel Brooks are always a good combination), Particles of Truth

Television:

24, Friends, Will & Grace, Law & Order (the original), Sex and the City, Strangers With Candy, Queer As Folk, Reno 911, 30 Minute Meals, What Not To Wear, Cosby Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The L Word, Weeds, Medium, The Riches

Books:

To Kill A Mockingbird, God Works The Night Shift, The Artist's Way, Vivien Leigh Biography, By Myself - Lauren Bacall's autobiography, and In Style (oh right that's not a book, but it's like the Bible to me), oh and the Bible, Go Dog Go!

Heroes:

My parents who have been married for 33 years and are a true testament to committment and love are my two biggest heros. They love each other, their family, their friends and most of all God. They are confident, hardworking dedicated, fun-loving, human beings, who are so welcoming and open and giving to everyone, it truly inspires me everyday. My Aunt Debby is my guardian angel on earth. She is my best friend, my mentor, my idol in so many ways. My worship leader at church, Tommy Walker, is one of my heros because he challenges me each week, just through example, to lead a devoted life and to not settle for less than everything God has for me. He reminds me how much I am loved and he is the most amazing song writer. My "girls," my sister, Kelsey is an absolute doll. God, I love that child. She's another angel - so loyal, sweet, funny, forgiving and beautiful. And my brother, Andy. He is so different from me, but I just love the stuffings right out of him. He is so smart, so funny, so talented (he is a basketball genius, and he plays every other sport brilliantly) and he's so in love with his wife, my new sister-in-law. I love them all!
