Growing up in New York City and born to a father of German descent/Baptist minister and a mother who had immigrated from the Dominican Republic, both gifted in voice and harmony, was the fertile breeding ground for this soul singer. Gospel songs carried out by choirs, earth trembling vocalists, Hammond organs and 70s funk musicians playing in the church band were the culture in this petri dish. Resisting fundamentalism was the purifying path to Soul Sista Shakti finding her own spiritual and musical truths. Then being inspired by great songwriters such as James Taylor, Joni Mitchell and Todd Rundgren brought it all together. The Lord surely does work in mysterious ways! SSS is recently gaining much attention for her sensual and deep vibe.

REVIEWS OF "SO RIGHT"B.Brewer L.Frappier
"So right! Very nice chilled soundtrack - just what I needed. Well produced sound. Like the progression into the chorus, musically and in the mix...The hook is Ok, I mean it's not supposed to hit you between the eyes, it's a good relaxing track. Thanks." Jewel has NOTHING on this one. A monster hit in the making!! This one has "hit single" written all over it, a truly satisfying pop number that will freeze you in your tracks and demand attention. Great female vocals against a cool, jazzy beat, there's little doubt this lady is a true winner. One question: where can I get this CD ... NOW!!! Reviewed by: Nicollette from Hollywood, California
The sudden lost of a loved one is of the most difficult things we will face in our lives and ultimately, accept. In 2005 I met a music engineer from Ireland, Eamonn Goggin on Craigslist.org. Although we never met in person we quickly bonded as friends and began writing music together. We were able to complete one track “Tonight†which is the first track on my player. The bonds of love that are created through making music with friends is just like family. When his mother contacted me to tell me of his passing I was completely shocked. Over time I have accepted it but it still hurts, it's only been a couple of years. Please read the text on the left hand side of this page to learn more and about the project raising awareness for organ donation in Europe started by Eamonn's parents, The Waterboys and others. I have personal experience with organ donation, as I lost my brother, Earl, in a motorcycle accident almost 15 years ago. Although it was tragic and painful, knowing that a young lady was given sight does in some way soothe and we're all connected, anyway. I will be doing my part in the United States, more on that later. Special thanks to Leo Frappier for remixing and remastering "Tonight."

"Due anni per comporre nuove canzoni nei ritagli di tempo, l'arrivo della voce provacante de Soul Sista, reduce dalla collaborazione OM, la collaborazione di due musicisti di pregio, e soprattutto un progetto sonoro poliforme, che non si limita a particolari ambiente o situaziioni, ma che vuole utilizzare ritma da club che fanno muovere e divertire e insieme hanno un sottofondo carico di sensualita completano il quadro." Their first album IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR is in manufacture with a street date of November 2, 2007
Review of "I Was Made For Loving You" (Zadia and Leo Frappier) - ""This is definitely a dance floor rocker. The first version of this track that I heard did not focus nearly enough on Brenda "Shakti's" vocal talents. I love what producers Leo and Paul have done to blend the loop of "I Was Made For Lovin' You" and the perfect amount of harmonics to the track. Mid-way through the track, when Shakti's voice becomes crisp and clear - is essential and adds extra energy to the track overall. Beautiful!" Tamara Deike ~ Om Records

The premise behind universal responsiblity is that we all want the same thing. Every being wants happiness and does not want suffering. If we do not respect this fact, there will be more and more suffering on this planet. If we adopt a self-centered appraoch to life and constantly try to use others for our own self interest we may gain temporary benefits, but in the long run both personal happines (and world peace, sic) is out of the question.
