I'm a sociologist, green-leftist activist, and drummer.I'm active in Zminijietna - Voice of the Left, whereby I occupy the role of Public Relations Officer, and Zminijietna Left Youth, whereby I occupy the role of President. I'm a Local Councillor in Sliema, Malta, whereby I represent Alternattiva Demokratika - The Green Party. I was a founding member of Moviment Graffitti and was Public Relations Officer of Alternattiva Demokratika - The Green Party. I was also active in Front Kontra l-Golf Kors, Front Kontra l-Hilton and The Arts Collective.I lecture in Sociology at the University of Malta. I'm a member of various sociological and academic organisations including Sociologists Without Borders (USA) and Critical Discussion Think-Thank Group, Centre For Labour Studies, University of Malta.In 1994 I co-founded metal band Norm Rejection, with whom I released 2 full-length CDs 'Deconform' (1998) and '0002' (2000) as well as other material. Norm Rejection re-united in 2006.I've been playing with punk band Dripht since 2000, releasing 2 EPs in the process: 'Dripht' (2004) and 'Global Warning' (2005).I also played with blues-rock band Filletti & Friends (with Ivan Filletti - Vocals; Sean Vukovic - Guitar; Rex - Bass) between 1995 and 2002, releasing a full-length self-titled debut album in 2001.I have recently teamed up with bassist Rex and guitarist Kevin Vella in a new heavy-blues-rock project. More news on this soon!I'm also the drummer of Peklectrick - the solo project of Patrick Galea who released the 'Reclaiming Space' album in 2007, and I also played with NV, recording some songs in the process for the forthcoming album.I like writing, both essays/articles (Sociology; Politics), and lyrics (Norm Rejection; Dripht).Maria and I are the proud parents of David, born on 30th March 2008!Check out my links:MichaelBriguglio.com
