try me.
friends, acquaintances, anyone that happens to cross my path at the right time and place... serendipitously.
i'll listen to most anything, and my taste varies by mood. these days because of school/stressors i need chill out music to keep me sane, and the chill ladies like rachael yamagata, norah jones, lauryn hill, etc. are favorites for this reason. i'm a fan of edm/trance/techno/house/etc., and now that the warmer weather's here i'm definitely listening to more of it, cuz it feeds the energy and elation i feel in the summertime - it's when i really come to life... does anyone actually read this shit?? anyways, i have an appreciation for old school hip hop and i feel like as of late i'm totally in the dark as to what's new and good (recommendations are welcome). i'm listening to the stars, imogen heap, along with other stuff my (cousin)^2 suggests and i'm feelin it. i'll listen to classical occassionally when i'm in the mood, and i dig the revamped classical stuff infused with trance/techno. and also anything with stimulating lyrics, good beats or a different/unique sound can definitely perk my interest. there are some really talented asian american artists out there, and i'm eating that shit up too. the korean music scene really isn't my cup o' tea. and as a general rule too much whining, pop, or sap is not good for the soul, nor the ears.
off the top of my head - crash, matrix 1, fight club, eternal sunshine, memento, amelie, pulp fiction, usual suspects, goodfellas, shawshank redemption, pi, what dreams may come, city of god, harold and kumar, spirited away, hotel rwanda, kungfu hustle, patch adams, some kevin smith, chen kaige, wong kar wai, akira kurosawa films, and the list goes on and on...
i don't watch enough tv...
these days my reading material has become restricted to mostly big, fat, boring medical textbooks that i can hardly lift without going "ooof." i don't really recommend any of them for leisurely reading, however, they may come in handy when you need some weights to bench press or something...
