I've been DJ-ing for around 14 years, and been listening to Hip Hop since the mid 80's, being heavily infected by artists such as Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash plus many others.I would say that the Streetsounds Electro compilations were my very first taste of Hip Hop !! I carried on listenining to Hip Hop through the years, watching it evolve, and also got interested in Soul and a fair amount of Rnb too.I have to say im really open many music styles but without a doubt my 2 favourite era are "old skool hip hop , and the golden age of Hip Hop" and of course "UK Hip Hop between 1984 and 1994, Hijack,Demon Boyz,Hardnoise,Blade the list goes on and I've been lucky enough to catch up with a lot of these guys all these years later !!!I'm absolutly amazed and captivated by the whole turntablist movement from Cash Money, Jazzy Jeff to the guys doing DMC comps today, and I guess this is the part of DJ-ing that I aspire to an love the most!In the 90's I also was part of a group "Poetic Justice" along side Mista Websta !I got involved in radio 3 years ago presenting shows on Kriss FM, Hot 92 and Jam Radio playing a variety of Hip Hop and RnB past and present. I have also been able to interveiw and meet artists such as Lemar, Skinnyman, Mr Vegas to name a few.I know present a weekly UK Hip Hop show on www.hhbradio.com evry sunday 6 till 8 45,"Hereoes of UK Hip Hop", which contains both new and old UK Hip Hop, and also promotes unsigned talent !!! It's gives me a lot of plesure to be able to put out such as show, as I feel the old era of UK Hip Hop seems to be forgotten by some poeple and never heard by people who have recently got into hip hop, so for those listers it really is an education! Plus promoting and helping new artists is a great thing too ! I wanted to put out a Uk Hip Show for years, but it wasn't untill I had the opportunity to broadcast worldwide via the net , that it was viable as old skool UK hip hop is more specialised, and not as popular as the current US stuff, although even saying that the amount of listeners has really grown and continues to since blasting off back in february 2006. The website which the show is in conjunction with www.heroesofukhiphop has got so busy that it has been taken down , in order to move it too a dedicated server, after getting 500 hits a day!So this really brings ut up to date in 2006, ive just finished a new mixtape CD "refixology", theres a preview on here too, its well worth checking out the full cd, months of hard work went into it, just messege me if you want one!I have many more plans in my music career , from dj-ing to interveiwing , I'd also like to present another show covering Hip Hop and Soul, but its all about time , and I seem to be a workaholic as it is with music , but I'm sure I'll fit it all in eventually !!!Anyway thats it for now, but I can guarantee whatever I'm doing musically, I'll allways keep it interesting and creative !!http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/dd86/djcutloose/?action
