..1 Paul van Dyk - PVD has retained his crown as the world’s number one DJ in 2006. The German trancer remains top dog for the second year running. 2 Armin van Buuren - After spending three years at No.3, Dutch trance star Armin has beaten the mighty Tiësto to second place. His hard work continues to pay off. 3 Tiësto - Three times No.1 DJ Tiësto remains one of the world’s biggest spinners, capable of filling stadiums with his epic Dutch trance sounds. 4 Christopher Lawrence - North American trance don Lawrence is leading the scene Stateside and is increasingly present on the global stage. He’s climbed up 10 places since last year. 5 DJ Dan - US jock Dan wins the ‘Highest House DJ’ accolade this year. Although something of a dark horse in Europe, in the States he’s huge. 6 Ferry Corsten - Ferry has had a number of big hits over the years, and 2006 was a great year for him - his album received critical acclaim the world over. 7 Sasha - Sasha is the highest placed British DJ in this year’s poll, and still one of the world’s biggest. He played at Sonar in Barcelona for the first time in 2006. 8 Digweed - Diggers has been in the Top 10 for years, and has constantly strived to inject new sounds into his sets. He’s a true renaissance man. 9 Above & Beyond - The DJ/production trio are one of the main acts breathing new life into the trance scene. It’s no surprise they have finally broken into the Top 10. 10 Deep Dish - The Washington-based duo fill clubs the world over, and have won many awards over the years whilst remixing the likes of Madonna.

~ Perpetuous Dreamer - Sound Of Goodbye ~ ~There are many influences in my taste in music, that is why I like almost everthing except country and r&b. My passion is EDM, tecnho, Electronica, alternative music, Goth, punk, heavy metal. I was fortunate to live in a time when music all around was experiencing an evolutionary period. I began my journey going as far back as the 60's when the Doors, Jimmi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc. were the main acts of time. These artists have left their mark because their music is timeless. Still good today as it was when they first played to packed crowds. To me that is what defines a Mozart or a Beethoven to someone just trying to make a hit to get paid. I am picky about my music and of course, I am a critic just like everyone else, but who isn't. The Words I live by are words spoken by Armin Van Buuren, Music is the only Universal Religion. I write this to give thanks and praise to one man's dedication to EDM and to the music scene in general. Like many people have said before, "Rock is Dead....Trance is Dead...Music is Dead!"Everytime there has been a transition in the music industry it has been a change for the better. I thought that was true for America back in the 90's. However, it has only taken a decade for America to realise our music here is totally utter SHIT!If it weren't for EDM and alternative rock, I am not sure where I would be today. There was many times as a teenager that you just have this "fuck it all" attitude. I have since changed my thinking and live in the now. Sure live and learn from your mistakes, but I don't regret where I am today.I have met many friends, artists, producers, dj's alike that I would have never had the pleasure of meeting before if it werenn't for some friends exposing me to this type of music. I love to DJ, I love to spin and perform just bring that smile to someones face and spread the joy and meet new people. It is fund to meet new people from all over the globe whom has just as much in come as you do with them.My first inspiration into music would have to be Jim Morrision of the Doors, he has always been the light at the end of the tunnel. Whenever I was down, listening to "The End" and "When The Music's Over" inspired me to continue with my love as a musician. I may have thought to have made it in the industry by now, but it is doggy dog world out there and you can't have everything. But I am damn sure going to try!!!Nick Warren, Underworld, Paul Van Dyk were my first major influences with much respect to NICK WARREN! Nick was the first live DJ all saw that has come outside of the states that I scene at a Rave called EDEN...I think? it was so long ago, but what was rememberal was that he played an outdoor venure just outside of boulder inside a canyon and the canyon walls were used for laser light show. Very close to an experience you would feel at Red Rocks Ampitheatre here in Denver.I was almost tired of listening to house, breakbeat, drum&bass with the same old repeatative beat, and music in general in the states went towards Heavy Metal or Rap. I wanted break from the norm, from following the leader and find something on my own without any influences from others. That is when I discovered Paul Oakenfold, Armin Van Buuren, Judge Jules, BT, Kimbal Collins, Dave Ralph, Max Graham, Sandra Collins, Underworld, NuNRG, Sasha and Digweed. Oakey was my fav at the beginning of this century and back a year or two as well. His style was like know other, though he trained wrecked many times...it didn't seem to matter cause the vibe he produced was unlike any other!Armin Van Buuren, I have the luxury to follow the entire 10-years he has been into the scene. The moment I heard is first productions and sets, I knew he was destined for greatnest. What I like about him is his down to earth attitude; his level of contribution to the entire EDM; his ability to sign talent when he sees it; his friendly demeanor and approach in life; most of all his ability to give those their big break that they are looking for. There was a time when I didn't like trance, because it was very much commercialized and all in all cheesy as hell! However, I did not see that with Oakey, Armin, PVD, and Tiesto. I must give props to Tiesto for making it as far as he did, and I do love all of his work. But like many would agree, it is time to give the respect it deserves for EDM. It is the wave of the future for the states whether you like it or not. It is no wonder all of my music I must purchase online anymore because they still do not sell EDM much in the states. Well I don't wish to be negative because this has been a total positive in my life and has aloud me to visit many places that I would have never travelled to before. This coming year I am so excited as I will be planning my first trip to WMC 2007 and Ultra Music Festival in Miami during Spring Break. I am also planning a trip to Europe, not sure of where or when. However, I will go to Amsterdam, Spain, Germnay, UK, Ibiza. I am leaning toward a package deal to visit most of the mainland as a two week adventure.Granted it is expensive but worth the memories and will allow me to persue my dream to live somewhere in Europe! I will be looking to take classes and reading books on several languages such as Spanish, Dutch, German, maybe French but I doubt I would go there anywayz. Please remember what Armin said..."Music is a Universal Religion, a way of life. To me this is just what I want. It's not just love for music, it's a passion, and it goes beyond liking, and beyond a hobby, it's about a way of living. Music is essential to my life". ~Armin Van Buuren~
