What about me!?! :-) Well, when I'm not assisting in the managerial duties of an automotive/truck repair shop in Jessup, Maryland, I can usually be found trying to ride anything that has two wheels, whether it be piston powered or self-propelled.
I've been an avid cyclist for 12 years now. I think nothing of putting 20-30 miles on my bicycle on any given day, usually two to three times a week, sometimes more. I'm aware of the fact that this might not be regarded as a whole lot of miles to someone who's "training" but, at 57, I feel that it's respectable number.
I'm also into motorcycling. I've been riding for 35 years and feel confident in my ability to ride, however, having said that, I'm still mindful of the fact of who's boss when I'm riding it. I'm equally as happy putting those 20-30 miles on my bicycle as I am putting 100-200 miles on my motorcycle. Either way, it's a great day.
I quit drinkin' and druggin' 12 years ago. (Right around the time I developed my interest in cycling, imagine that! :-) Some of my friends still drink (a LOT :-) but my druggin' buddies, for the most part, are gone...some of them are 'in the ground' gone if you know what I mean. The ones that are still around are people I try to avoid as much as possible...too many issues. For the most part, I hang out with a sober crowd these days.
Even though I've stopped drinkin' and drugin' that doesn't mean for a moment that I don't still enjoy an evening (many evenings for that matter) going to the bars and interacting with members of the opposite. I still enjoy dancing and 'playing the game' as much as ever. I would be remiss if I didn't admit to myself that the "playing" has cost me more that one wonderful girl over the years.Having said that, it is what it is...Oh...I kinda like DRAG RACING too!!! :-)))))))))))Heritage...not HATE!To the coach and fine young women of the Rutgers women's basketball team...
