About Me

ARCHER is holding auditions for guitar players!!...
If you are a hard rock guitarist looking to play classic and modern rock covers (a la Chickenfoot, Heart, Buckcherry, Guns n Roses, Evanescence, etc.) as well as performing a few originals in the MD, VA club scene, send us a message. We are preferably looking for a seasoned, committed, weekend warrior. Pro gear and reliable transportation are a must. Rehearsals are in Olney, MD
Aug 15, 2009:
Hello friends! It’s been quite some time since you’ve heard from us. Like so many others, we have not been immune to the effects of the current economic debacle and this has certainly put a damper on our ability to get out there (to put it mildly) and rock with you. However, rumors of our demise have been greatly exaggerated.
We’ve taken advantage of the “down time” to record some new original material which we have added to the player above. In addition, our original guitarist, Al Guilford (who played on Take One and Enter New Light), contributed his unique guitar leads and licks to Walk Alone (thanks Al !). He also added some complimentary slide parts to Larry Guggenheim’s parts on Breathe Deep. The only thing this song may be missing now is “more cowbell!”
We also re-recorded a 15-year-old favorite, See Me Break, which was cut from the Bleed CD recording sessions during pre-production. It’s nice to finally see this song “grow up” via a polished recording.
All these creative juices have inspired us to begin the process of finding a new guitarist so we can get out there and rock with YOU!! So… if you know of any quality guitarists out there who would be a good fit with the ARCHER sound, send em’ our Myspace link so we can get this show on the road! We hope to see you soon!!
A hard rock band based out of Baltimore, Maryland, ARCHER has been headlining venues throughout the Mid-Atlantic region since 1990. Their diverse sound stylistically rides the edge between melodic rock to alternative, and they are well known for outstanding vocals and musicianship.
• Their 1993 CD release "Enter New Light" resulted in national attention with ARCHER showcasing at the South By Southwest Music Conference in Austin, Texas, as well as the Cutting Edge Music Conference in New Orleans, and the Philadelphia Music Conference in Philadelphia, PA.
• Their 1997 CD release “BLEED” resulted in a signing with independent label, Buzz Chunk Records. They have been voted one of the "Best Rock Bands in the Mid-Atlantic" by Music Monthly Magazine's Annual Readers' Poll on multiple occasions.
• Archer have had the privilege of sharing the stage with national acts such as Fuel, Kansas, Firehouse, Dangerous Toys, .38 Special, Dee Snyder’s Black Widow, Tyketto, Survivor, Foghat, and more.
