I am a DJ and Producer who specialises in Funky, Soulful and Uplifting House Music. My record collection also includes Deep House, Old Skool Vintage House and Disco.
Biography
Being a female DJ in such a male dominated industry, DJ Candice McKenzie takes great pleasure in proving that the power of the DJ is in their skill, and not their sex.
Ambitious, Versatile, Determined and Professional are just a few words used to describe Candice.
DJing professionally since 1999 and going under the DJ name of baby C, Candice, at the age of 17 began playing out at House Parties for friends before making her club debut in the Zar Bar in Ladywell, South East London playing Old Skool House. Her audience was shocked by her passion, knowledge and enthusiasm towards the Old Skool sounds. It was then that Candice realised that her love for the art of DJing was a feeling that was not going to go away and begun pursuing a more professional career.
Candice has had an amazing 2007. Her talent and right choice of music has continued to be her eternal ticket, allowing her to travel all over Europe to DJ. As well as revisiting her favourite hotspots including Croatia, France, Greece, Russia, Slovenia and the Ukraine, she also made her DJ debut in Ireland, Poland, Kazakhstan and Ibiza. Not satisfied with playing all over Europe, Candice spread her wings a little further when she played her first stateside gig in Miami at the WMC for the Echo Bravo / Usual Suspects party. She is looking forward to doing it all again in 2008 and hopes to make many more DJ debuts in countries that she has never played in before.

When she is not spinning in clubs worldwide Candice keeps herself busy by working in the studio remixing Disco tracks. She has completed a re-edit of the Strikers classic 'Body Music' and also produced a track called 'I Can Read Your Mind'. A lthough there are no plans to release either track, they feature on her Dolly Mixture CD's and in her DJ sets.

Black Barbie
Black Barbie is Candice's alter ego. Whilst playing her Soulful, Uplifting sound to many audiences around the globe, Candice was busy working on another project which she has been keeping under wraps, until now. She has been putting her energy into a completely different style of electronic music, mainly Progressive & Tech House, Electro, Minimal and some Techno.
Candice wanted keep this new project completely separate from her regular DJ activities and only plays these kind of sets under the name Black Barbie, a name that is a playful spin on her nickname which is Dolly.
Black Barbie will make her Debut in Kazakhstan, and more with dates in Europe and the UK to follow.
