After establishing a solid live act and recordings, J-Treole smashed expectations through gigging in and around Cambridge and swiftly flowed into London. 2006 and 2007 have seen the band perform more than 90 shows of their "unique blend of Jazz-Hop" regularly in venues throughout London including Dingwalls with Omar, The Fly with Eddie Argos [Art Brut], Cargo, Proud Galleries, 93 Feet East, Nottinghill Arts Club and in Cambridge - The Junction, The Barfly, Queens College with The Klaxons & Shlomo, Anglia Ruskin University with Alex Zane amongst many others and receiving great reviews and critical acclaim along the way.
Cambridge News (April 2008): "...these musical explorers can pack more imagination in one song than most of the local band scene could muster in a whole set's worth of derivative mush."
Barfly (Jan 2007): "...THE most amazing Indie Hip Hop Jazz hot sauce the UK has to offer"
Hunts Post (April 2008): "J-Treole were the third band to hit the stage. It sometimes takes a while for me to get hooked by a band unknown to me, but with J-Treole it took a matter of minutes. A fantastic musical cocktail of jazz, rap, soul and with a sprinkling of Salsa thrown in for good measure, the frighteningly young musicians that make up this quartet are among the best I've ever seen on the Cambridge music scene. Although the band didn't seem to attract much of an audience at the start, by the end of their half an hour set there was a real buzz with many truly won over, on further listening I can't recommended their 'Minor Details' EP (available on iTunes) enough."
The band independently released the Minor Details EP in Spring 2007 and has been selling worldwide digitally on (iTunes and Napster) as well as in CD format from their myspace.
