After spending a couple of years as a student band bumbling around the West Wales town of Aberystwyth, playing gigs to audiences whose numbers were often less than those of the band themselves, and recording 'Unassuming but Stupidly Powerful' (an E.P. that was described by the University of Aberystwyth's own student rag as requiring 'a bottle of Jameson’s and a hanky' to listen to) the members of PeopleAreThings went their separate ways for what seemed like an eternity.
In early 2007, they re-united to record 'Deceptively Unhelpful and Probably Dishonest', an E.P. whose sound ranges from the dizzy heights of puppy stamping rock to delicately weaved melodies, whilst ticking every box in-between. Since then, they have been playing gigs whenever the opportunity arises, to anyone who'll sit still long enough to listen.
Their influences are wide-ranging, and in some cases unexpected - Our Lady Peace, Halo, Blind Melon, Incubus, David Ford, and Gordon Giltrap amongst them. Make of that what you will, but for them it makes a cracking set list.
PeopleAreThings are Adam, Adam, and Ben, and they are going to have mind-blowing sex with your ears.
People are things are currently looking for places to play, and aural senses to abuse. If you want PAT to play with you (figuratively speaking, of course*), then send us a message, or email [email protected]
*Or not, as the case may be. We're fairly open minded chaps.
