A STARR was Born not Created!!!

About Me

Keisha Starr is more than a musical phenomena; she’s an artistic and very creative woman. Realizing her gift of writing at a very young age, Keisha started off penning her talent for Pimlico Middle School. While most young ladies were trying out to be cheerleaders, Ms. STARR walked into the auditions and fearlessly expressed that she felt the cheers were out-dated and old fashioned and offered her assistance to the captains. After writing a very hot and sassy cheer far beyond the norm, Keisha STARR was offered a position as the new cheer-writer. Unable to stay in the box, she then worked her magic to end up in the arts department to create plays, short stories, and poetry, which ultimately landed her as published author at the tender age of 12. There was no denying that Ms. STARR had a gift for bringing words alive and drawing people into her world. No matter if its pain or happiness, Keisha has always been able to convey her feelings in ways that leaves her audience speechless. She was destined to be a STARR and it became evident to all who was blessed experience her written and musical flair.Keisha STARR was raised in a house full of music. With her West Indian heritage, she watched attentively as her father wrote songs and played the piano and mother sang with other close family members to form the first reggae collective in Baltimore called the “Determination Band.” Keisha traveled with the family band since the age of four, modeling their devotion to music and appreciation for distinctive melodies. By the tender age of ten Keisha wrote the first song of what has become a prolific list of impressive materials. Penning lyrics, with verses such as: “If I could turn back the hands of time baby you know I would/I would take back all the things I said only if I could/Because time has passed but the feeling have not/ Come back home and give love another shot.”After writing her first song and performing it for family members and close friends, it became evident that Keisha STARR was musically inclined far beyond her years. Not only did she have the notch for penning her own lyrics but she had a beautiful voice to carry it out as well. With a spirit for always evolving, Keisha jumped into the studio head on with the very talented producer Pop, to create one of the best R&B albums in this generation. Many listeners who are now fans have compared her work to Mary J. Blidge, Alicia Keys, and Beyonce which Ms. STARR says is a tremendous honor. However, what everyone fail to realize is, those ladies are signed and back by A-list songwriters and producers while Keisha STARR pulled off the success of her album as an unsigned hype with little to no outside resources. This blazing CD was an instant hit that somehow landed in the office of Def Jams, which had their A&Rs calling Ms. STARR to purchase songs directly off her album. Keisha STARR is now sort out by many artists state to state, who simply needs their musical bio written or looking for their next big single for their album. So you never know Ms. STARR just might be your favorite artist’s ghostwriter.Keisha STARR has now extended her writing abilities to the urban fiction genre. Be on the look out for her first urban fiction book to be titled “Jamaican me Crazy,” which is already being compared to Sister Souljah’s “The Coldest Winter Ever.” There’s no denying this young lady’s talent. Whether she’s in the booth blazing a hot track, or in a zone writing, one thing is for sure; she will not let her fans down. When asked how she continues to create such wonders through pen and paper, Keisha STARR replied, “Excellent writing is crucial to good communication. I need to be able to communicate not only with my fans but with my inner spirit. For that reason, I’m always penning from my heart and soul.” After briefly speaking to one of her clients who wish to remain anonymous after a writing session, she had one thing to say; “I call Keisha STARR my little musical boxer because she’s always guaranteed to write you a hit!” If you haven’t purchased the CD you still have time. Honestly, "True Confessions" is bananas and would be an excellent gift for the one you love. You can bump it in your system as you drive around the town and then bring that special someone back to your place and make love to it later on that night; "True Confessions" is one of those rare classics that you must have in your collection. But don't take my word for it, you can listen to a 2 minute snippet of each song so what do you have to lose? And please don’t forget to be on the look out for “Jamaican me Crazy” which should be on the shelves the first of the year. It’s a must read book… Trust me on this one. It will leave you at the edge of your seat begging for a sequel.
