I am a book hound so I can't scale it down too much: Johnathan Carrol, Hunter S. Thompson, Margaret Atwood and David Sedaris are my favorite for fiction, anything by Noam Chomsky is great for non fiction, poetry by Rainer Maria Rilke. A tree grows in Brooklyn is my all time favorite book.
Is there actually anything here I can put that won't sound totally cliche or self serving? Ok I'm going for the golden cheeze award; My dad is my hero because when I was a little girl I saw him dive into a huge pit of manuer (shit-liquified) and save a drowning piglet. If a person will swim in actual shit to save a life that is considered less significant than their own, well that is a hero in my books. So screw you all those people who put Malcom X or Ghandi.
