About Me

Im from Asheville, NC but live over the mountain in Johnson City, TN in an old house across the street from an old church, and flanked by two apartment houses that both have burned down since Ive been here. I've three cats, a cajun accordion I cant play, way more banjos than I need, and a back yard full of pecans. In 1999 four of us started a band called Reeltime Travelers and we've toured the country hard for a handful of years, made a couple of records and met some pretty amazing people. Lately, I stay close to home, read a lot, play as much music as I can stand and try to stay close to those who are close and try to close in on those I wanna get closer to. How about that?

Music:

Ive played banjo in an old-timeyish band called Reeltime Travelers since 1999. These days Im staying around home a lot playing the fiddle and electric guitar, for the hell of it really, and teaching some lessons to eat and I just bought Snoop Doggs first record again cause I lost my copy. I like old country, most all of the branches of what was once old-time country music, including bluegrass, George Jones, Gary Stewart and the like, old blues and some new blues, and I really like Coltrane and Fats Waller, and just a lot of different stuff. Inspiration can come from some pretty unexpected places for me.
