About Me

Hello there, how you doin,' some things about me are: I've been to almost every state in the United States, most of Western Europe, including Iceland, England, the Azores and the countries actually on the continent of Europe (my favorite being my mothers' birth country of Switzerland with the most beautiful section of the Alps and home of William Tell who could shoot an apple off of his son's head, makers of fine chocolates, watches, knives, fondue, etc.), Turkey and other classified ares of the Middle East and South West Asia.And I've never seen prettier Sunsets than right here in the Tampa Bay area and that includes my trips to Alaska, Hawaii, both sides of Mexico, the Carribean and living near the coast in California for a while. Other places might have nicer Sunrises, but we have awesome Sunsets.I ought to work for the Chamber-of-Commerce or sumpin,' huh?If your not from here we have two seasons Wet and Dry. It's Dry when other parts of the nation have winter and it rains every afternoon for about half an hour in the Summer. It's a semi-tropical climate here.Tampa is a Native American word (Seminole I presume) meaning "Sticks of Fire" referring to all the Lightning we get here (with house rattling Thunder Boomers at times).Our NHL team (The 2004/5 Stanley Cup Champions) is called the Lightning due to this area being the Lightning Capital of North America if not the world.It's nice to have three of the top four pro-sports (NFL Buccaneers -Super Bowl 37 Champs-, MLB Devil Rays -which are actually Manta Rays- plus Spring Training, NHL Lightning) in the area and the fourth (NBA in Orlando) just up the road.It's nice to have Busch Gardens a Roll-a-coaster type theme park/zoo, Adventure Island waterpark, Zoos and Acquariums and Museums and Broadway type theaters, Roller-Derby and of course the beaches. Plus Orlandos theme parks and attractions and the Kennedy Space Center are not far and Daytona is not far from there. A little further away is Miami.It's nice here, but like most areas it has its down sides as well, dense population, humidity, bugs sometimes, heat that can melt items in your car (thankfully aircondtioning is virtually everywhere) and of course sometimes the annoying hurricanes (which we've really been quite lucky -knock on wood- the past twenty years until last year so we've not had them all that often). But all in all its a nice place to live where others vacation.

Local Pro-sports the beach of course, scuba diving, snorkeling, site seeing, taking cruises, off-roading, horseback riding, skating, biking, hiking, trying nice new restaurants, checking out new houses for ideas, checking out new home electronics and other gadgets, checking out new cars like the Auto Show every year etc.,
