About Me

Zenji Ingham aka ZenjiSan was born and raised in Hamilton, Bermuda, son of world renowned Karate instructor Frederick "Skipper" Ingham and member of the Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate Do Kyokai. ZenjiSan's martial arts carreer started very early as his baby crib was always situated at the front of the dojo (training hall). Throughout his youth he dominated local karate competition and went on to place in the top ten in various world karate championships in places like Okinawa, Japan to having won the traditional kata divsion at the 1996 WKF World Karate Championships in Ontario, Canada. ZenjiSan continues to develep his martial arts training by regularly visiting Okinawa, Japan - the birthplace of Karate - training with the Okinawa Goju Ryu Karatedo Kyokai. ZenjiSan's musical introduction began at a tender age with clarinet, saxophone and piano, playing in his highschool band. He was in various solo and group performances playing saxophone during this time, performing for the Premiere of Bermuda and for the Jackson School of Performing Arts annual recitals. Once in college he sang in a five part harmony group called W.O.C. (World of Culture) who performed all over South Florida, performing the US National Anthem for a Pauly Shore and David Allen Grier comedy show, covers and original material for various events, appearing on Florida news and in a live commercial for Coors Light which aired on BET orchestrated by Mandana Entertainment. After returning home from college he pursued his musical interests on a solo level recording songs and performing at events, including opening for the all female reggae sound system Hemo & MooFire and reggae dancehall queen Junko from Japan, promoted by Garon Wilkinson of Meridian Entertainment. ZenjiSan has also performed with local bands such as Jahstice and touring cover band Left Lucy, and more recently opening for Allaine, Gyptian and Buju Banton at Culture Shock 2007 at Somerset Cricket Club Bermuda, and for Tokyo/Jamaica based female sound system Baddy 45 at the Devonshire Recreational Club June 2008.
