Born in Brooklyn, New York, in the memorable neighborhood Crown Heights -- is where I discovered my love for music. When I first started school, loathing waking up early, I would run into the living room and hide under the table to get some more sleep. My mom would be looking for me, while she had the radio on. There, curled up, with my legs to my chest, I would hear the voices of Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, UB40, amongst others. The music became my blanket at that moment.It wasn’t long before I started to sing along and try to reinvent the songs. Creating my own melodies off the beats before the artist began to sing on the track.At age 7, I moved to Staten Island. My sisters and I gain friends quickly. 2 neighborhood girls loved to sing and asked my sisters to join them. They began writing lyrics, but weren’t coming up with much of anything. Without hesitation, I immediately took charge and wrote the lyrics and melody for them. But no one paid any attention to the 7 year old. I was just “cuteâ€. Even though I created a solid song and was rejected by a bunch of teenagers, it was then I realized my ability and passion for writing in general.It was during this time when I met my best friend Veena. We discovered the importance of writing together. She’s my heart. She believes me. And no other person compares to her. I owe her a lot, because she has played a key role in my life. She’s the reason why I am who I am today.I would go on to Junior High School and write numerous songs for any person who needed one. I even tried my hand at rapping & singing (along with my friend Robert) but soon discovered I had no desire to become an artist. My strong point was creating.The turning point of my development came when I first discovered Brandy Norwood’s “Full Moon.†I always knew about Brandy and enjoyed her music growing up, but it only then when I truly became a fan. Her voice gave me the courage and determination to hone my gift with no exceptions. She’s the reason why I won’t give up.High school came about. And I did a little bit of everything (some more than others). Singing, Writing, Dancing, Stage Management and Acting - I even gained the title for “Best Actor†in my yearbook - I had my hands across the board. In those years I met a great deal of wonderful people. One person in particular, Jasmine “Jazzo†(the up and coming artist of tomorrow) and I became fast friends. She blessed me with her voice and has influenced me to create wonderful songs. When we’re together, we’re having fun, we’re a force, and we’re also team.During the past few years I have gone through heartache and stressful times, but my writing has always helped me out of any problems I have. Whether it be writing a dramatic story or a heartfelt ballad. It completes me because the words become me. I have a dream, a focus, I’m on the move. I’m headed to college this fall for recording arts & music business to learn my surroundings and horn my skills. I‘m going to make sure I do what I love for a living. I have been getting offers from ARTISTS, A&R's, and PRODUCERS (some of them already in the industry) to write for them. You already know I’m ready! The question is, are you?
