Gli Stake-off the Witch nascono ufficialmente nel Settembre 2002 da un progetto di Stefania (chitarra e voce) e Caterina (basso). La band è composta anche da un 50% maschile che per tre anni subisce un gran numero di variazioni.
Tuttavia, nonostante la formazione sempre mutevole, nella primavera-estate 2004, viene registrato un demo di otto pezzi piuttosto acerbo, cantato a due voci (maschile e femminile) che risente dell’influsso di svariati generi senza però trovare una sua identità precisa.
Nel Settembre 2004, gli Stake-off the Witch arrivano a una seria battuta d’arresto e le ragazze si trovano di nuovo sole a portare avanti il progetto. Solo alla fine del Febbraio 2005 subentra alla batteria Fabio, seguito pochi mesi dopo da Icio alla chitarra.
La nuova formazione acquista subito una buona stabilità e registra nell’autunno 2005 un secondo demo di tre pezzi, cantato unicamente da Stefania e molto diverso dal precedente, chiaro anticipo della direzione che la band avrebbe a breve intrapreso.
Il gruppo consolida il feeling attraverso un buon numero di live, la creazione di un nuovo repertorio e la ricerca di un suono più personale.
Nell’autunno 2006 gli Stake-off the Witch sono ancora in studio per incidere i pezzi più recenti e rappresentativi del loro nuovo sound: è la volta di Flamingoing, disco di 8 tracce dalle chiare sonorità stoner, più vicino ai patriarchi Kyuss, Unida, Slo Burn, Fu Manchu, ma pur sempre personalizzato dal gusto di ciascun membro del gruppo e cantato con una voce femminile, talvolta aggressiva, talvolta seducente.
Flamingoing riscuote un discreto successo non solo in Italia, ma anche in Inghilterra. Nel Dicembre 2006 infatti, gli Stake-off the Witch si “gemellano†con una band inglese, i regular John , e nel 2007, organizzano due scambi di tour di due settimane ciascuno: il TigerWitch part 1, svoltosi in Gran Bretagna a Marzo e in Italia ad Aprile, e il TigerWitch part 2, rincominciato in Italia a Luglio e terminato in Inghilterra ad Agosto.
La band ha dunque avuto l’occasione di calcare i palchi d’oltremanica per acquisire una nuova disinvoltura e consolidare un’ottima sintonia tra i membri.
Nell’autunno 2007, come ormai tradizione, il gruppo è di nuovo pronto a imprimere su cd le ultime produzioni. Fabio Magistrali è regista di questo nuovo progetto, ancora una volta evoluzione dello stadio precedente.
I nuovi pezzi sono più mutevoli e destrutturati, più psichedelici e rumorosi.
L’impatto suona del tutto diverso: riffs psicotici seguiti da muri di accordi fragorosi, ravvivati da una linea vocale molto più aggressiva, variabile fino al sottile confine del fastidioso.
Il nuovo cd sarà pronto nei mesi di Febbraio/Marzo 2008.

Stake-off the Witch were officially born in September 2002, from an idea of Stefania (voice and guitar) and Caterina (bass guitar). The band is 50% male and during the following three years its male components will be frequently changed. Anyway, even with these sudden changes, during Spring-Summer of 2004, the first demo composed by eight tracks, quite "unripe", sung with two voices (male and female), which suffered from the influences of other sounds without finding its own identity, was recorded. In September 2004, Stake-off the Witch come to a severe stop and the girls find themselves alone once again in taking on the project. Only at the end of February 2005 Fabio is recruited as drummer, followed by Icio on the guitar after just a few months. The new line-up can count on good stability from the start and record a second demo of three tracks during the Autumn of 2005. Sung only by Stefania and very different from the last one, it's a clear view of the path the band will then follow. The band strengthen the feeling they shared through a good number of live gigs, the creation of a new repertory and the quest for a more personal sound. In the Autumn of 2006 Stake-off the Witch go back to the studio to record the latest and more representative tracks of their new sound: it’s time for Flamingoing, an eight-track cd with stoner resonances, much nearer to Kyuss, Unida, Slo Burn Fu Manchu, but still personalized by each member's taste and sung by a female voice, sometimes aggressive, sometimes seductive. Flamingoing gains a good feedback not just in Italy, but also in the UK. In fact, in December 2006 Stake-off the Witch twin with an English band, regular John , and in 2007 they arrange two exchange tours of two weeks each: TigerWitch part 1, that took place in Great Britain in March and in Italy in April, and TigerWitch part 2, started in Italy in July and ended in England in August. So the band had the opportunity to tour Great Britain’s stages to become more confident and to consolidate the harmony between members. During the Autumn of 2007, as is tradition, the band is once again ready to plan a new cd. Fabio Magistrali is the director of this new project, another evolution of the previous condition. The new tracks are more changeable and de-structured, more noisy and psychedelic. The impact is pretty different: psychotic riffs followed by deafening tunes, redirected by a much more aggressive vocal line, changeable till the thin edge of nuisance.
The new cd will be ready in February/March 2008.
