Cheb semnil

..hello my name is "cheb semnil" AKA: colin and im a "freelance" sax player based in the UK I try to get myself all over the place to see new music and meet new people. I have been playing music since I was the age of eight.I went to a music school in Glasgow for my high school education and was trained classically on clarinet and piano.I also was a member of the national youth jazz orchestra of scotland which recorded its first album,"quiet freedom" composed by Nikki Yeoh in the summer of 99, i then proceeded down to leeds to study jazz at leeds college of music and joined a band called "chinedu" which also featured the very talented kelly mueller (check her profile out) which covered original material as well as covers such as "Sting", "Al Green", "Stevie Wonder" and others, after the band members decided to go there own way I then had a 2 year Sabatical from music groups to concentrate on my instruments.In the fall of 2005 i then joined a "rai" band in leeds and started gigging around leeds, I loved the response we seemed to get from our music,sadly the band is over but I am still working on "rai style" and "eastern" side of music and have moved onto better and rewarding things.I have a passion for all good music but love playing soul/jazz/latino/french/reggae and of course rai music.Cheb semnil is a very international person who loves to work with as many musicians as possible, he is also open to as many styles as possible.For 2008 Cheb Semnil is very very busy recording,performing and promoting for many people in uk but he is always looking for more musicians and challenges to work with(so get in touch!!).Cheb semnil's will be working with quite a few musicians this year.
