FRASER FIFIELD, composer and multi-instrumentalist, lives in the lovely village of Ceres, Fife, Scotland. He leads his own bands - STEREOCANTO, The FRASER FIFIELD BAND and the FRASER FIFIELD TRIO and also writes and produces music for a variety of other projects including film and television. He completed his third album 'TRACES OF THRACE' in 2008 to add to 'HONEST WATER' and 'SLOW STREAM', all released on his own label Tanar Records and is currently working on his fourth to be realeased this year. Fraser is a well known face in the Scottish music scene, renowned for his folk-inspired saxophone playing, his compositions and as a piper and innovating low whistle player. As well as fronting his own bands (Fifield's original compositions provide the mainstay of all the groups repertoire), he is also a member of THE GRAEME STEPHEN SEXTET and has previously performed with notable outfits such as SALSA CELTICA, DONNIE MUNRO, THE OLD BLIND DOGS, MR MCFALLS CHAMBER, THE MICK WEST BAND, THE UNUSUAL SUSPECTS, ALYTH MCCORMACK, WOLFSTONE, LA BANDA EUROPA, THE CHRIS STOUT QUINTET, MOISHE'S BAGEL and many others.
In 2008 the FRASER FIFIELD BAND toured Scotland as part of TUNE-UP alongside BULGARIAN KAVAL VIRTUOSO, NEDYALKO NEDYALKOV'S QUARTET.
"The steadily growing overlap beyween the Scottish folk and jazz scenes has been a rich source of invention in recent years, but even in this context, multi-instrumentalist Fraser Fifield has emerged as one of todays's outstanding talents." - SUNDAY HERALD.
