Deadman is a relatively unique project from Northern Ireland consisting of Jason Mills (guitars, vocals) and Simon Mateer (synths, beats). Their music is a brooding synthesis of acoustic songwriting and hardware/software manipulation. The duo have released two mini-albums to date, 'Lastminuteflight From Airstrip01' in 2002, and 'Thoughts That Haunt The Secret Twilight' in 2004 which both received positive reviews in the local press. They have recently acquired a new studio in Belfast city centre and will be recording new material throughout 2008.
Both members are also involved in running the Diston underground club nights and free parties in Belfast (http://www.diston.org). They are resident dj's (Jason plays under the Deadman moniker and Simon appears as A Simmer Tone) and have shared bills with international electronic acts such as Bong-Ra, Frog Pocket, Hellfish & Boxcutter. The eclectic mix of styles, ranging from instrumental post-rock to dubstep to ragga jungle, reflects the wide range of influences which inform the bands' own music... make
