Hydroponic Music was established in 1998 to provide quality underground music to the people of Belfast and beyond.
Nearly a decade later, Hydroponic nights have defiled the notional blueprint of many formulaic music events, crossing genres from minimal techno to roots reggae, electro cuts to digital dancehall and seminal soul to early rock n roll.
Guest appearances and ringing endorsements from the likes of Primal Scream, Ian Brown, Andrew Weatherall, Shaun Ryder, Afrika Bambaatta, Death In Vegas, Howard Marks and Trojan Records (to name a few) have rubber stamped Hydroponic Music’s underground kudos, while a glut of talented local jocks have provided bass busting DJ sets and jaw dropping live performances.
Hydroponic DJs have also appeared in cities across the UK and Ireland, including London, Edinburgh, Dublin, and Glasgow.
