Poor people are crazy. I'm *eccentric*!

About Me

What can I say about me? I believe in . . . happiness, peace, love, all that. Most of all, I believe in happiness. I read somewhere once that the purpose of life is to make others happy, and you do that best by being happy yourself. I think that's true. I'm constantly in the process of ejecting all the old suffering in my life and replacing it with happiness--or at least, contentment--about the present. It isn't easy but nothing important ever is. And this, above all, is the most important thing I'll ever do. Oh, yeah, then there's this:

My Interests

I like hearing the sound of my own voice, not following my own advice, reading, sleeping, watching inhumane amounts of tv, finding and watching every movie Alan Rickman has ever been in, social drinking and dancing with random guys.
If You Were Born in 2893...
Your Name Would Be: Vuis Yuu

And You Would Be: The Destroyer of Earth If You Were Born in 2893

I'd like to meet:

Shakespeare, Orlando Bloom, the Devil, and Italian soccer players. And other random, interesting people. You think you qualify?

Music:

David Bowie; K's Choice; Scissor Sisters; Otis Taylor; Thelonius Monk; Nine Inch Nails; Metallica; Tenacious D; Voltaire; Claude DeBussy; local bands of the rock/funk variety, especially Sway, Giants of Industry, My Morning Jacket, the eternally fun G-Funk Allstars, and I_Inside (along with the now-defunct Attic Down and VHS or Beta). If it rocks or swings (like Sinatra!), I'll probably like it. If it wears a cowboy hat and is earnest about it, keep it away from me.
Your Stripper Song Is
Closer by Nine Inch Nails

"You let me violate you, you let me desecrate you
You let me penetrate you, you let me complicate you
Help me I broke apart my insides, help me I?ve got no
Soul to tell"

When you dance, it's a little scary - and a lot sexy. What Song Should You Strip To?

Movies:

High Fidelity, The Princess Bride, The Lord of the Rings triology, The Fifth Element, Galaxy Quest, Pirates of the Carribean, Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest, Blow Dry (Alan Rickman rocks!), Dogma, the Harry Potter series, Shaun of the Dead, Donnie Darko, The Professional, Serenity, Underworld, Memoirs of a Geisha, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Saved!, Hellboy, etc. . .

Television:

Project Runway, CSI (the original only, please), Moonlight, Eureka, Mythbusters, House, Deadliest Catch (Discovery Channel).

Books:

CURRENTLY READING: Of Human Bondage by W.S. Maugham // Favorites of all time: Hamlet by William Shakespeare and The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Heroes:

As a former English major and Tom Robbins fan, I must bow down before anyone who has actually finished reading "Finnegan's Wake" or "The Heart of Darkness." And my dog, Sadie:

Sequel non grata

If there is something sacred to American culture, it's the cult movie. Like Donnie Darko. It's a quirky little movie that everyone should see at least once. But it's not the kind of movie that can (or...
