About Me

Next in line behind a trail of successful producer albums and synonymous with the likes of Quincy Jones’ Back on the Block and Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, is a new chapter in music history. Up and coming marquee producer, King Midas, presents I Got Next Vol. 1, a compilation of hot new urban talent on top of hot new urban production.Ryan McCormick Harris a.k.a King Midas entered the music industry under the tutelage of the well-known hit maker Dallas Austin. Midas started learning and interning at Austin ’s DARP studios in the spring of 2000. After 6 months of grunt-work and self -promotion Midas’ production skills became an interest to several of the artists on the Dallas Austin talent roster. In 2001, the self-pronounced Golden Child graduated from making mop water to making beats for the likes of, J.T. Money, Vega, and Sammie (Freeworld/Capitol Records). At the beginning of 2003 Midas directed his attention away from selling beats and toward selling records, by working for the prominent song publishing company Hitco/Windswept. Harris also began working as an independent A&R representative for several small indie-labels in the South including Mars Records and the now defunct Relativity Records. Harris’ excursions into unfamiliar territories of the music world laid the foundation for his new philosophy on music industry success. For the next two years, King Midas would focus exclusively on producing and developing his own un-established artists.Drawing on 10 plus years of industry experience, Midas has prepared to release I Got Next Vol. 1 (LP) from his newly formed independent label RMH Records. The LP’s first single Liquor is performed by, ELITE one of Athens Georgia ’s finest. Also, look for future single releases from Sauce Milli, Prodigal, and Rashod B. as King Midas redefines the title of Super Producer and transitions the recording industry into a new era.
