In the year 2001 four Dutch musicians started to form a rock ‘n roll band. They got their gear, jumped into a garage and started to write their own stuff. The sound in this experimental period was dirty rock in the Guns ‘n Roses style.
After a demo " Poppin’ The Cherry" and some underground gigs HARASZMENT started looking for a second guitar player. After some search they stumbled on a local guitarist, which made the bands sound more complete. Another demo was made called “Moonâ€.
After some while Sjeik decided to leave the band. Some auditions later they found their new drummer in Willy. HARASZMENTs sound started to change over the years from Southern Rock to Sleasze Metal. HARASZMENT played across the country to promote their debut album “Edge of Life†(Sixkiller Records) which got good reviews in the Dutch rockscene.
At this time HARASZMENT shared the stage with bands as: Imperia/Angel (Norway), Betzefer (Israel), El Guapo Stuntteam (Belgium), Cyrcus (Germany) Peter Pan Speedrock (NL), Powervice (NL), The Spades (NL)...
Also Knorpop, Weistock, Halloween Rock Fest, Bestfest, Bintjesfest, Prilpop, Koeienpop and more Dutch festivals had HARASZMENT on their flyer.
During Winter 2005 Raff quit making music and a new axe-grinder was found soon. Hardcore and grindcore were Joris’ most influences, which made HARASZMENT’s sound more powerful and more aggressive.
Energy is drowning from stage when they start to play their show. Rock ‘n Roll with a fat dirty metal edge. “A must see, how these guys rock on stage†like a jury member said during a battle of the bands contest.
