Hi,
I'm Peter, and I'm songwriter. I try to draw influence and inspiration from all music, be it folk, blues, reggae, country, pop or whatever.
I have one CD under my belt entitled "neither of us can lose". The album features Patrick Olmsted on bass and guitar, Adam Cormier on drums/percussion, myself on lead guitar and vocals, and was recorded and produced by Jerry Paquette at Raincoast Studio. The CD also features blossoming vocalist Alyse Paquette in the song "Good Morning".
If you want a copy of "Neither of us can lose", just send me an email.
I've begun recording songs to appear on my second studio album, "One Day". Keep an eye out for my live performances. If you come to my show, and tell me that you heard about the show on Myspace, I will give you one free hug (while supplies last).
Thanks for visiting myspace!
Peter.THE FOLLOWING WAS WRITTEN BY COLUMNIST BRUCE MASON...The title is "Neither of Us Can Lose," a line from one of the songs, which are seamlessly woven into a tapestry of easy listening, inspired by such moments like those on the docks of Silva Bay, or over hot chocolate at Raspberry's.
This studio debut that signals the arrival of an important young singer-songwriter in our midst.
"I was born and raised here, have lived every day of my 20 years on Gabriola," he said, while delivering a review copy of the impressive CD.
"This is a great place for an artist to grow up," he recalled.
Highly personal, but thoroughly professional, Peter creates some nice moments, uniquely his own. For example, in "Top Story," you'll hear his take on the power and impact of TV News, and "Letters" gives voice to thoughts of the kids from back in Grade 3 who have since moved away, scattered across the country.
As much as anything "Neither of Us Can Lose" is a series of creative and very melodic emotional snapshots, perfect for all this fog, the ferry lineup and best at home, year round.
Watch for a stage-view guide of the great little live music venues popping up all over the city's old town where, as Peter McGee says, he is going to "keep this music thing going."READ THE FULL ARTICLE IN MY BLOG SECTION**
