Ben Stacey has had a lifelong obsession with music. Almost ten years with punk rock outfit Bodyjar, journeys through countless genres of music and the investment of 3/4 of a decade standing behind turntables has left him with a penchant for dark rooms and a serious vinyl addiction.
I dig on so many styles ... at the end of the day I just admire anything well constructed whether it be funk, dub, break, hip-hop or rock. If its done well I'll appreciate it explains Ben. Playing his own style of mix ranging from assorted rare groove, nu / future funk, b.boy / booty break, bashment, disco to breakbeat
Ben is known for taking his audiences on a voyage that twists smoothly through all styles over many layers, creating a mood and atmosphere that is considered fresh. He's earned a strong reputation for technical skill and the ability to move a floor with unique tunes, which attract a wide ranging audience.
Bens dedication to the wheels of steel led him to travel and live in London and NYC for 3 years to soak up the underground club scene, become familiar with dance music production and to naturally have a blast along the way.
Ben has run many club nights over the years and currently runs and plays DISS YOU (Workshop) and NO STANDING (Revolver) along with assorted beats and breaks parties in Melbourne and larger events with 33 1/3.
He's played alongside international acts such as the Beastie Boys, Beck, Stanton Warriors, B.L.I.M, Ils, Plump Dj's, Ransom, DJ Regal, Tayo, Phil K, Brewster B, Girl Talk, Katalyst, Recloose, Trevor Whatever, Soup & Nickodemus.
