About Me

MySpace Free Layouts at MySpace ToolBox

Professional student, . . . of life, the universe and everything. I also work for a daily newspaper as a graphics assistant, but I would stay in school forever if I could. I play both piano and guitar. I don't have any patience for people who don't read books (REAL books, magazines don't count), or for people who have never had to work for anything in their lives. I like bold, expressive people (this is no place for the meek, who aren't likely to inherit anything, let alone the world), people who have opinions and take a stand once in awhile, but who aren't too stubborn or narrow-minded to change their opinions from time to time. I am incredibly addicted to tropical skittles. My philosophy is why lick toads when you can taste the rainbow? Think about it. And kiss me, 'cause I'm Irish.

My Interests

Too many to seriously try and list them all here. But here goes: school, pool, reading, playing guitar/piano, knitting, yoga, smoking (the other kind), playing with my computer, going out and cutting loose, etc.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone interesting . . . my prerequisite being the ability to carry on an intelligent conversation for more than ten minutes. Also, I'd love to sit down and have a chat with Gandhi, Tagore, Tom Robbins, Tom Wolfe or Jeebus.

Music:

I don't believe that half the crap on the radio these days can be called music. But to express it in terms of a range, I like everything from Debussy to Dolly Parton (her bluegrass stuff), Billy Joel to Veruca Salt, NIN to Mazzy Star, The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Nikka Costa, Prince, Tom Waits, etc.

Jeopardy!, Arrested Development, The Office, Seinfeld, My Name is Earl, The Simpsons, Futurama, Corner Gas, CSI, etc.

Books:

Anything by Tom Robbins. Aside from that, pretty much everything except the Da Vinci Code, which put forth some interesting points, but reads like a Hardy Boys novel. I am particularly interested in metafictional texts, so I enjoy everything from Cervantes to Michel Basilires.
