I am a child of the 80s but I was never a big fan of what was called NEW WAVE or POST PUNK music. I was a Punk rock and Hip Hop Head in the 80s. Although there were a few groups that were considered NEW WAVE or POST PUNK that i enjoyed listening to I was never a huge fan of the style nor am I a fan of the events that revisit said music. Music I cherish from the 80s is PUNK, HOUSE, TECHNO, HIP HOP.
