Little Martin's DJ Bio
Working as a DJ since 1983 in Manchester, England. Post-Punk, Pre-Nirvana, Post-Disco, Pre-House, Little Martin has ridden many waves and trends and created a few. Credited by ID magazine as one of only three DJs in the UK regularly playing House in early 1987, Little Martin was a pioneer in the UK scene that still influences Dance Music the world over. Resident at New Order's legendary Hacienda nightclub from 1985-1988, the Friday Night "Nude Night" in partnership with DJ Mike Pickering was the epicenter of the Acid House explosion and the birthplace of the world-wide youth phenomenon Rave. This weekly event influenced scores of musicians, DJs and producers, including the Pet Shop Boys, Sasha, K-Klass to name a few. After relocating to the U.S., Little Martin has continued with several successful residences and was one of the headline DJs for the annual Vermont GLBT Pride celebrations for seven years. Little Martin's diverse programming combines many of the different genres of House and Dance with emphasis on vocal tracks. Playing different styles and to different audiences is second nature for Little Martin. From Hard to Deep, he knows how to work and entertain a crowd and with 24 years experience and a massive musical knowledge, not just of House and Dance but Disco, Pop, Punk, R&B, Latin, you will likely hear more than the same beat all night long. Some of the people Little Martin has worked and played with include:
