I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I like old blue dresses, red lipstick, antique grammar books, tequila and gin, the crackle and haze of a celadon glaze, steel road bike frames and old large flange french hubs, moody tech-house, dark chocolate, the way a man's iliac crest snuggles next to the external obliques and frames his lower torso, sleeping late, daydreaming and scheming, the way people dance when they think no one is looking, merino wool against my skin in the rain, my old fucked up truck, the squishy loam of a forest beneath my feet, deja vu downtempo, singing to myself, the way two records can be perfect for each other, and banana splits among other things. Mostly, I won't bother with what I dislike. Literally. I throw the seconds and minutes of my days into my educational studies, working evenings at the hospital, writing secret things, promoting and supporting shows and parties, wrapping myself up in music, running around with the Shameless crew and maintaining the real and fantastic relationships in my life.Luck has it that I am part of a vibrant, local music community. I've been blessed with some great friends who let me dance badly around them, throw out my crazy ideas and dreams, and who support me no matter how strange I may be. You can catch me out at least twice (ok, more than that) a week for drinks, dancing, and music. Social capital is alive and well, Robert Putnam. For the last year or two I've really been into any type of dirty party music, whether it's called ghetto tech, baile funk, miami bass, or b-more club; pretty much anything that's just straight up dope. I secretly collect dreamy downtempo too. Sometimes I get asked to impersonate a DJ. It makes me nervous and a bit shy, but it's also kind of fun.

My Interests

Music, reading, writing, dancing, hijinks, partying, healing, community, and making the most of it.

I'd like to meet:

Funny, critically thinking, relaxed individuals with a lust for life and an eye out for good times. Note to fools and assholes: I will not suffer you gladly.

My Review: Low-B at the War Room 1/26/06
